In terms of popular vote, I think it will be smaller, like 51% Obama, 46% McCain (with the remaining 3% going to 3rd-party candidates like Nader and Barr).
In terms of electoral college votes, I'm guessing 330 Obama, 208 McCain.
And I'm wondering what all the cynics (Mark, I'm talking about you) will say when their "never gonna happen" predictions get debunked.
Me cynical?
I would be very surprised if McCain wins.
I would be as surprised if Obama changes anything
Obama is at best, the better of two evils. I mean. the man is prepared to spend how much money getting elected? McCain I find scary. Palin I find extremely scary.
I hope Obama wins, purely because I don't see how he can make things any worse than they already are. If he does win, he is going to need a thick skin.
And I never said, "never gonna happen."
But feel free to quote me. I know you know how to do that
I guess it's a matter of setting expectations. He won't magically transform the U.S. into utopia. But he can pull us out of a war, enact civil union legislation, restart Clintonomics, etc.
You need a lot. But at least the bulk of his money has come from regular people donating $25 here, $50 there. You might argue that it's a waste, but I'd argue he has a very large, broad swathe of lobbyists who will effectively be making sure their money was well spent...or else it will dry up by the time he has to be reelected.
Couldn't agree more.
He's already demonstrated that he has that.
I can't seem to find the post from among the *ahem!* over 4600 posts. But I remember you saying the powers that be would never let him win. Well, we'll see.
Is it that many?
Now you see through my evil plan.
I remember what I said now.
"The powers-that-be will never allow him to make any substantial changes." Or something along those lines
We shall see.
Thank goodness McCain/Palin lost.
Does that mean America is now a Muslim Nation?.......
That's about what FiveThirtyEight is predicting (51.5 and 46.4)
There have been rumors of a conspiracy to hack voting machines in some key areas and grant McCain a win by 3 electoral votes, but the polls have been so strong for Obama that, "Dewey Defeats Truman" not withstanding, I think that scenario becomes less and less plausible the closer we get. At this point, the theft would be blatant, especially if exit polls show an Obama win too, and if they get away with stealing their third election in a row, then democracy is well and truly dead in this country.
I agree. The gap is too wide now. I fully understand that GOP dirty tricks can swing things considerably in their favor, but not that much. There would be riots in the streets, and not a single foreign government would recognize a McCain administration as a legitimate one.

McCann has conceded i discovered it via hubpages - thanks Kenny http://hubpages.com/hub/Obama_victory
Hmm... I seem to remember you saying they wouldn't let him win, but never mind. Yes, we'll see.
I guess it depends on what you mean by having changes made. I suspect my expectations are more modest than yours, Mark, but then again, you do live in France, where the government really does fear the people.
Oh, I'm sure right-wingers will be wailing about the Muslim thing for a while...

So, it seems nearly obvious, with just 63 days to the General election, here in the States, Mr Obama is near victory, needing just 12 Electoral Votes to secure the win, versus Mr Romney 79. Since the EC is the ultimate deciding force, behind the winner, the general election could sway the a few...
