They put them in a boat in the middle of the ocean with no food, water or supplies... a boat with out oars... and told them to "go home".

Got to think that the Russian Ships will be left alone now.

    Good for Russia.

It's about time someone put a stop to the lunacy.  Pirates are Killers and Criminals.

I kinda liked the U.S. approach, a double tap to the head worked pretty good.

That happened under Obama... but it would kill you to give credit where due.

Obama gets the credit?  How about the US Navy?  The guys who actually performed the op.

Better yet let's give the SEALS credit. Oh that's right we try to prosecute and court martial them ! Especially when they apprehend Terrorists.

Yeah I got the memo on that one Arthur. It was ridiculous they were evn brought up on charges. Next thing you know they will want to prosecute for using bad language against Terorist. And I guarantee you the Navy and our Commander in Chief just lost the loyalty of three outstanding men

Was Obama afloat a Navy vessel that is moving up and down with waves and then pulled off three miraculous headshots? NO!

Obama has never worn the uniform of the United States, and deserves no credit whatsoever!

I will also point out that this is the one documented case where he Obama administration ACTUALLY followed the constitution ...  the US Government is specifically directed to punish pirates  in Article 1, Section 8, Clause 10 ...

Of course, they are also supposed to be issuing letters of Mark ... Hey Mark, did they give you any letters to go after pirates?

Dang, looks like they screwed up again!

What?  Fishing?  Russia getting rid of Criminals has nothing to do with fishing and has nothing to do with Big Government.  They simply sent a message that they are not going to tolerate criminal attacking their vessels.

You probably shouldn't drive in your current condition.  Jeez did you even read the post or any of the replies?

"Somalia's fishing industry has collapsed in the last 15 years and its waters are being heavily fished by European, Asian and African ships,"

That would be the Russians and the French primarily. Go Big Government! Kill the Criminals!!!

Dear me. You should do some research before saying anything. I know you Socialists favor Big Government Protecting Against the Pirates and Criminals whose fish we stole!!!! but still. wink

I guess you are too lazy to look into the issues huh? Kill The Criminals!!!

Yes - I read your post. And the responses - God Bless those SEALS! LOLOLOL

Nothing to do with big government? LOL It is everything to do with big government. Oh - you mean the little guy being squished by Big Government is not American?

Sure - in that case...... USA Big Government Inc would never squish a foreign national. lol

You people make me laugh. Reactionary garbage.

Seriously - how much fish did Russian fishing boats take out of Somalian waters in the last 10 years?

I genuinely thought you cared about the little guy. Seems that only applies if you are the little guy huh? You a Christian? wink

I think we should take a moment to reflect on what troubled childhoods these pirates may have had, and how their self-esteem was not nurtured in the most affirming and flattering way during their formative years of 0-60 and ask ourselves what WE could have done different for THEM. How did WE fail THEM so badly that they turned to a life of crime? We should beg them for forgiveness as they murder, steal, and extort the rest of the world because...well, because that will make a tiny minority of us who have no ties to or simplistically evident consequences from the actions of these scumbags feel good and it will make that tiny minority feel self-important for the half of a second that they think about such things.

I think we should also question the non-pirate population of Somalia how it is that they have forsaken their due right to murder and extortion when a minority of their 'country'men have embraced it. How dare these non-pirate Somalis; good, honest, honorable men and women, not take to murder and extortion when the evil 'rest of the world' has all but required it of them? Don't they understand the block-headed, simplistic ideas of how the world works that self-important liberals have established for them? When will people learn?

"I guess you are too lazy to look into the issues huh?"

What you are proposing is it's okay for Somalian Pirates to attack any vessel because their waters have been over fished. That makes sense. And we should attack China because they pollute our air.

So fishing and piracy are the exact same issue. It's just reactionary.  Those pirate fisherman are just getting their own warped brand of justice.  Yeah... yeah that makes it okay. Again that make sense.

The issue here is Russia will not tolerate their ships being attacked. Just that simple. And Russia will deal with it in their way and there isn't any Governing Force on this Planet that is going to stop them. The Russians laugh at Team Obama.

So go ahead and condone piracy.  Why not adopt the pirates and keep them in your house. Pirates are good people!

But again using your logic, it's okay to commit criminal acts as long as you have some kind of underlying reason for committing the criminal act.

I still wouldn't recommend you drive in your current condition.

I never guessed that Mark was a political progressive.

Had him figured out as a good old liberal democrat out to get his piece of the Great Digital Dream.  Go West Young Man.

Now he's turning out to be a goodie 2 shoes soft hearted social worker type.  Human rights advocate.

    For everyone except Christians.

Humour aside, I applaud Mark for injecting political economy somewhat into the conversation.  Must be his British education.

    London School of Economics perhaps?
