    A kitchen full of food.

A car tank full of gas.

    Money to pay the rent.

A hub that gets daily traffic.

    What say you?

Happiness is enjoying your life today because you are not promised tomorrow.

According to empirical data surveyed by Weiten, Lloyd, Dunn, and Hammer (2009), happiness depends mostly on the following factors:

      1.  Factors relatively unimportant in determining our general happiness:  money, age, gender, parenthood, intelligence, and physical attractiveness.

      2.  Somewhat important:  health, social activity, and religion.

      3.  Very important:  Love and intimate relationships, work, genetics. and personality.

Being able to literally breathe and have good health.  (mine is going fast)
      To see others happy
      To make others smile
That's what makes me happy.  If I can make someone else happy that is my happiness and if I can make at least one person a day smile then I've done my job for the day.

I totally agree on the fourth one.

Yep, that about sums it up for me.

  5. paradigmsearch profile image61
    paradigmsearchposted 11 years ago

I keep plugging away on that hub thing. Haven't had a success in a long time though. Starting to get somewhat perturbed about that...

  6. SoundNFury profile image80
    SoundNFuryposted 11 years ago

Why stop at one hub that generates money?  I'd like ALL of my hubs to generate money!  Okay maybe gettin a little greedy.  But you aim for the sky and hit the ceiling, right? big_smile

  7. paradigmsearch profile image61
    paradigmsearchposted 11 years ago

I do indeed keep aiming for the sky. Problem is I think the Adwords Tool keeps giving me fake ammunition.

  8. profile image0
    ClusterCritterposted 11 years ago

So it is more like a hub that gets daily traffic and generates enough money to pay rent, fill the car with gas, and stuff the kitchen with food.

  9. paradigmsearch profile image61
    paradigmsearchposted 11 years ago

I've done the math as to how many more hubs I'd have to write to hopefully accomplish that. The answer was disconcerting to say the least.

    Happiness, right now, is..........
my prodigal kitty coming back home.

....actually getting compensated nicely for what you write.  I've been here 3 years come this summer and I still average $10 a month or so.  A "zazzle" ad on everything.  Love the connections here, just disappointed in the work that goes in which reaps little benefit.  And, I am a patient person.  So, I would say that for today, happiness belongs to people in Boston, we finally are have a legitimate spring day in the Midwest, and I'm grateful I have my health.  It's a cha-cha day!

If happiness is all the above, then one just needs one item, MONEY.

Happiness is more than that.  It is a state of mind.  Money no doubt will greatly contribute to one's happiness, but money foolishly used to seek happiness will ultimately lead one to despair and sorrow.

I have just written a hub dedicated to my son on the subject of happiness.

Happiness is being in perfect health, having an above average to genius level IQ, and a high sense of self.  If one has these components, HE/SHE can achieve what he/she set his/her mind to achieve.
