As others have mentioned, your diet is extremely important. You want to eat lean proteins and plenty of fiber. You also want to drink a lot of water (at least 8 8-ounce glasses a day) while avoiding carbonated and alcoholic drinks.
As for exercises, don't waste your time on sit-ups/crunches. Studies have shown that these ab exercises are inefficient. Instead, you should choose from the Bicycle Maneuver, the Plank (or Hover), the Captain's Chair, etc.
I have done 5 surveys and everyone says that they think 3 is average but then I find out that the real average is twice a month. So if you can answer the question that would be great, not how much you think but...
