Higher than the Rooftop : Fireworks...
It was few minutes before nine, few hours to go before New Year’s…I just dropped by to taste the beautiful eve on the top…I couldn’t miss goin’ here especially tonight, though I wasn’t gonna greet the New Year here unless everyone would be celebrating here.
Tonight’s not for the stars…the fireworks will reign tonight... I thought.
I could taste the air of the astonishing time…one could always smile no matter what. I could hear the knocking explosive sounds everywhere reminding everyone the countdown is hitting the destination.
The stars were hiding, giving chances for the spectacle fireworks.
Fantastic view! Too bad the longer continuous fireworks display will be later. Told myself.
Too bad I’m gonna leave soon…Too bad you’re not here with me.
I remembered you again…was it too bad?
I breathed in and sighed…wished you’d be here hugging me…kissing me at midnight.
Felt the time was ticking so close. So I stood here at one last view then lit a sparkler. Crazy fantastic! I wrote your name on the wall…
“Vandalism is not allowed in here.” Someone exclaimed.
“Wwhat are you doing here?” I asked surprised.
“They say if you can’t find the right words for a certain moment, just give that person a hug…words have the potential to confuse, but hugs never lie.”
“I’m glad you came back…my angel in the night….”
And so I was standing here, in this reserved rooftop under the shower of fire…
rockets were launched…
sparks were flying…
butterflies swirled around…
a fountain of sweet dust splashed…
the earth stopped movin’…
And so I was standing here, in my rooftop, in your arms…
the fireworks were lifting me…
higher than the rooftop…
