You Don't Know Me
You Don't Know Me
Looking across vastly far away;
Mocking, wandering and judging
Not caring to know me, someday you may.
Observed up close the outside foundation;
Hear, smell and touch.
Absorbing somehow seems a signification.
You can only sense what I want you to see;
Smile, laughs and wonder.
Impression starting but you don’t know me.
Compassion builds through what is told;
Honesty, dreams, secrets
Friendship develops as souls unfold.
Hearing only what I want you to know;
Appreciate, believe and devote.
Profound feelings have their own glow.
Open your sealed heart, for now it’s free;
Engulfed, ecstatic, complete.
Love takes hold but you don’t know me.
Roam briefly in my tattered shoes;
Sorrow, doubt and regret
Your embrace is confidently about to lose.
Empty promises I wish not to foresee;
Lonely, vacant, and ruined
Although you think so, you don’t know me.
