Oh, so many things! Prayer, music, some poetry, running water like a waterfall or dribbling brook. Hills provide me a sense of freedom and tranquility, though I can't explain why.
Getting the bills paid . . . lol! But especially a walk in nature, a good photo shoot, gardening, meditation, the sounds at the beach, spending a day with my sons. I could go on . . .
I have to agree with fossillady. when bills are paid all is at ease. Knowing that things are in order give me such peace of mind.
Family around the table - good book - warm fire - walking with our dog.
Writing through the wee hours of the night when it's completely silent and I'm all alone!
Having all of my responsibilities of the day accomplished, with a clean house (okay, this one only rarely happens because I have kids). Also, gardening---I am so much at peace with plants.
Going out side.
We have a lovely patio and just sitting outside and watching nature unfold.
It's wonderful to have such a back drop.
I receive a sense of tranquility from many things, since it is in me, but beyond so many things it is being around nature...the forest, the beach a simple plant. Good question, gave me a sense of tranquility even to think about it when I wasn't. Thanks!
Very loud hippie music. Strange I know, but my dad IS a hippie and when I was a kid he would always get plastered drunk and play his music so loud late at night. I got use to falling asleep to in. So if I go out to parties, the loud music makes me sleepy. That and the sound of a fan.
For me it's nature and water. Walking in the woods, sitting at a lake or lying on the beach, that's my sense of tranquility.
Holding a purring cat to your ear. It is instant calming tranquility. (Although they make up for it when they decide to start fighting/throwing up/etc in your bedroom in the middle of the night)
Since I'm often stressing over income, and also need a car that doesn't often cut out with speedy traffic flying up behind me, I would have thought having enough money would be the first thing to pop into my head, but it wasn't. Feeling secure was the first thing that popped into my head.
Not worrying about my own safety, or the safety or my children or other loved ones, gives me a sense of tranquility. This sense of tranquility when feeling secure doesn't have to be in obvious places like in a big open outdoors space where I can see that nobody or anything can harm me or my loved ones, but it can also be knowing that all the doors and windows are locked at night before going to sleep, and that nobody is lurking inside and I'm locking them in! Then I can rest easy and go to sleep.
I guess, in a way, having enough money should have been the first thing that popped into my head, because with enough money, I could ensure better security for myself and my loved ones.
Other things that give me a sense of tranquility are driving along countryside roads (in a car that doesn't often cut out) and getting things ticked off on a list of "things to do."
The sound of birds chirping, rain, and trickling water also give me a sense of tranquility.

What do you think, I think art is useless?Do you think the word Art no longer has any real meaning. The word Art seems to be used to describe just about anything, because of its ambiguity I think it has become a meaningless word but never mined me, what do you think?

If you had to do without one of your five senses and could choose, which would it be?This is not meant to be derogatory towards anyone with a handicap, merely a question about choice.
