Hello fellow writer's, I've noticed in my short time on Hubpages there are so many awesome writer's and each has their own unique writing style. I would love to know more...please respond with how long you have been writing on Hubpages, what your niche is ( poems, how to's, will tackle any subject, etc) if you participate in challenges ... and if so which one's have you done?
Here's me...I've been writing on Hubpages since August of this year, I wouldn't say I have developed a niche as I love exploring everything!! I have done 1 of the weekly topic's so far...and am looking forward to reading your responses, especially which challenge you loved most and what was it.
Looking forward to getting to know more writer's on Hubpages.

Hi!  I'm Linda (lrc7815) and I've been here since the end of May.  I'm a newbie for sure.  My niche is still a mystery although I write alot about social injustice, genealogy, nature, and I'm becoming known for my series called A Monday Morning Rant.  I was welcomed with open arms and hearts here on HP and have tried to give back all that I have received.  I may never catch up.  I have not participated in any contests yet because I am still trying to develop my skills.  One day though ...

Thanks for the invitation to introduce myself.  I'm happy to meet you.

Hi Linda, thanks so much for stopping by. You have accomplished so much for only being on HP since May, you have clearly made some great connections with alot of the writer's which is fabulous ! I love your Monday Morning rants and look forward to reading more. What a great writer's community this is.

I joined HubPages in late February of this year and was amazed at the Welcome Wagon acceptance into this wonderful literary community. A good portion of my articles have been about eBay. Since selling on eBay is my full-time occupation, I wanted my writing to chronicle as well as compliment the eBay seller's experience. In addition to entrepreneurial Hubs, I also love to write about family, social issues, and inspirational themes. Recently, I accepted my first Hub challenge posed by a fellow Hubber whom I have the greatest respect for--Ten Hubs in Ten Days. It was a gas! Or gave me gas...one or the other. Looking ahead, I want to end the year with my 100th Hub...maybe something entitled, "Whew! Am I Glad the Mayans Got it Wrong!" My goal for 2012 is to write 150 Hubs. Not a big deal, except it's truly a challenge to juggle a full-time eBay job with my writing.

Thanks for creating this awesome forum thread. I can tell already that you're a wonderful asset to the HubPages community.

        Aloha, and best wishes!

Hawaiian Odyssseus so nice to hear from you. Your writing is funny, inspirational, and you are a true giver to the HP Community. It's amazing how simple 10 hubs in 10 days sounds, but I truly know that takes commitment.
Well done ! I think if I were to start a challenge that would be a good starting point. Thank you for your kind comments. Your goal for year end is perfect, and what do the Mayans know...hopefully wrong on this one.
Look forward to your words of wisdom in your next Hub.
          Aloha

Hi Liz! Name is CrisSp. I've been with HP since April this year only. I'm a full time Flight Attendant and a freelance Writer when I'm on the ground. I'm not a big fan of morning flights because I'm nocturnal. My brain won't shut off at  night and so, I prefer red-eye flights. At night is also when you can hear my fingers on the keyboard--writing.

Ahm, did I break the ice yet?

Okay, because of my crazy schedules at work, I can't commit to any of the challenges that HP offers, although I would love to. Maybe in the future. Why not? However, I do enjoy it here and I love the community of great people. Niche? I used to have my own community publication (Magazine type) but recession and the internet killed it. Now, I write about anything and everything under the sun, whenever I feel like and whatever feels like. I'm a versatile writer but I try to stay away from politics. I like true stories, narrative styles. My favorite categories are inspirational, quick pick me up poetry and humorous stuff to name a few.

Wow, I feel like I'm responding to some  interview questions!

Anyway, this is a great forum to initiate getting to know our fellow hubbers. So, thanks Liz.  Nice to meet you.

      Love from the sky~

        Hi CrisSp
You clearly are passionate about writing, and you have very interesting hubs on your Hubpages. Are your flights usually same day return or do you have alot of layovers?  You must have sooo many stories.
Too bad your community publication didn't survive, what kind of publication magazine was it?
So nice to hear your story and thanks for stopping by the forum to introduce yourself.

Thanks Liz.  Our schedules are very dynamic. We could be holding a block of return flights (short flights) and there are some layovers for long haul destinations plus deadheadings. Airline companies are cheap now a days, lay overs are very expensive for them. So, it has been reduced compared to the previous years. Indeed, there's a lot of stories to tell, mostly penned in my journal. My defunct magazine was called GTA This Month. You may  try to Google it, if you wish. For now, I'm enjoying it to the fullest while on board and doing some freelance stuff while on the ground. Again, my pleasure to meet you Liz.

Hi, I'm Austin, an old dog whose niche is dime store poetry and short stories that appear to be so real some people think they actually are. Occasionally, I venture into voicing my modest opinion about religious topics and since I'm not one of the blessed ones, I usually take a lot of flak for it, which I suppose is the name of the game. I wish I could whip up great recipes and how-to hubs, they seem to be quite popular, but it's not my turf. I have been on Hubpages for about 5 months now. The only challenge I ever take on is myself and it's a full time job. I believe in quality over quantity, which kind of goes against Hubpages and my own best interest, but I'm not one to compromise easily. Welcome and have fun on Hubpages. See you around...

I totally get the working full time and writing, and from the responses so far it amazes me how many writer's on HP consistently post great Hubs. Your quality over quantity definitely shows in your writing, well done and I look forward to reading whatever comes next.

I'm not sure how long I've been on hubpages, a couple, maybe more years.  I am currently writing for a friend's blog at bitemybookblogspot.com, writing a new book and I started on my own blog last night.  I love to read and to write doesn't matter the topic.  It's easier to say what I don't write about than it is to say what I do.  The only topic I don't cover is sports because I don't follow any anymore and I don't feel it's a good idea to write about things you know nothing about.  On Bitemybook I post lyric reviews, book reviews, opinions, rants, general information about writing, and other bits here and there.  I am on twitter again, for anyone else on it,  under the name JccKeith.  I post links to websites, hubs, including mine and other people's when I find them interesting or useful.  I also retweet posts I find useful.

I've only been on HubPages for two to three weeks. I don't really have a niche but I think I have a knack for writing on social issues. I was just nominated for the Rising Star Award for one of my hubs. I'm still having a little difficulty figuring out where to go to find what I want to get to and I get sidetracked a lot. I plan to do the Topic challenge if I can ever find it...lol.

I just found the HP App for my Iphone and Android device which is great when I'm not at home because it tells me who has written to me and helps me (Hopefully) keep track of who I've responded too. This is absolutely my first ever blogging experience as well, I had been looking for a blogging site for awhile and found HubPages when I was on vacation this past summer.

My daughter absolutely loved every minute of ... that is once she got rid of the ants in her room, and met her roommate who was from Switzerland. When you volunteer in Jamaica you work about 2-3 hours a day and rest of the day you have to explore. She had an adjustment period getting used to breakfasts there...breakfast in her house was a big meal with meat and it was usually really hot (definitely a small thing) she loved the locals and didn't do touristy things she really explored the island and had a blast. Definitely will mention the souvenir thing, if you have a chance to go on a mission...go for it...you want to take every opportunity to experience this wonderful planet we live on.

And I bet that was awesome, tell her if she isn't seeing anyone I want a date!! lol smile Because I love to explore, Im not too fond of tourists attractions, I want to see the land, and nature smile

I see you have some difficulty using apostrophes correctly.

This hub may help - http://thefont.hubpages.com/hub/How-To-Use-Apostrophes

We are a community of writers and so it is good to help each other out.

When we get writer's block we can come to the forums for inspiration - though with 10 hubs already it hardly applies to you LOL

My name is Chris and I joined hubpages in July of 2011.  It is hard for me to believe that I have been on here for that long, but I fell in love with hubpages on my first visit.  The community atmosphere here is second to none and just being a part of the gang is a source of pride for me.  I do not really have a niche yet, although the bulk of my writing is my attempts at humor and making people laugh.  Once in awhile I make an attempt at more serious writing, music, sports, social issues and relationships.  I have not attempted any of the challenges yet, as I am busy trying to challenge myself to keep people laughing.  I hope to remain an active member of this community for years to come.

I've been here for a bit over a year, now - with occasional long breaks mixed in. So, I haven't put nearly as much stuff up as I would have liked. Most of my stuff here tends to be reviews (books, movies and video games) so, if I had a niche here, I suppose that would be it.

If I could, I'd spend all of my time focused on fiction, though - but, really, during those long blank periods that always seem to crop up, putting it aside and focusing on something else is usually much a much better option than staring at a blank page.

My name is Kara and I've been writing on HubPages on and off for three years. When I first started here it was to try to make money and I wrote about a variety of topics--health, family, children, pets, some silly stuff.

After taking a year and a half long break to focus on my fictional writing I've returned with more focus. I've had two books published, two more under contract that are in the editing stages, and two more that are with agents waiting/hoping to receive an offer for a contract.

I've decided I'm now going to use HubPages to share a little bit of my writing and to share the vast amount of knowledge I've gained over the past year and half about writing, publishing, author branding, effective critiquing, and promotion. Things like that. smile

1st of all Welcome to Hubpages, it is a great writers community I'm sure you will enjoy. There will be many writers on this site that will be able to give you advise on publishing. Kara just introduced herself on this forum ( her name on Hubpages is NYMiskovic) and she has had 2 of her novels published. I wish you luck.
If you haven't had a chance yet, try using the Hub Hopper (I prefer using the classic hopper). It's a great way to find other writers that may have written hubs on the information that you need.
