How to write a good Hub like me Who's English is not the native language
I am a Chinese, it is clear that my English is not very good, I always use Google Translation software to write articles in English, which is inefficient, So I want to know how other people do it.
Hi! elftail, I am a Filipino too and English is my second language. I speak tagalog which is my own language but I learnt English when I was at school and that's how I come to know how to write, speak and read English. I am sure if you are determined you will learn English easily. But you have to have the desire to learn other languages as it comes in handy wherever you go.
elftail, just a quick note to congratulate you --your English is 100% better than my Chinese (which is nil). Keep working on it and read read read. Take note of how things are punctuated and expressed. Grammar books are fine but you can learn quite a bit from reading any good book and studying the punctuation and sentence structure.
One of the things I notice most about translated sentences is a lack of personalization. For example, your question asks "how to write a good hub..." where as a native speaker might word it "How can I write a good hub..." This is usually the fault of translation software because it doesn't know how to conjugate for you. But it's also one of the hardest things to learn with a second language. When I tried to learn spanish in college, I often struggled with how to change a word based on who it was referring to. The best advice I can give you is to read popular english fiction. Unlike non-fiction, fiction tends to mimic everyday speech and will give you a greater sense of what is typical.
