How would you describe a color red to a blind person?
I always think of red as a warm color, so therefore I would describe it as the warmth of the sun on your face.
Try to use your other senses, like taste, smell, touch, etc.
Colors are different hues. But a blind person does not need to concern himself with the concept of different hues. He would be interested in how colors manifest when they are refracted as rainbows in water droplets or prisms.
How would you explain the effect of rainbows /prisms to someone who cannot see?
I would try to convey that the broad color spectrum is like the wonderful light to greet us each as we are born. Brightness to exceed all else, and beauty that lights the spirit, this only to be exceeded by your mother's sweet smile, her face of hopefulness, to help us all to carry on.
Its a play of perception.....a perception that wholly depends on our minds to paint its way through....instead of describing the colour red , I would encourage the mind of that very person to cook his/her very own cuisine of hues...a world where he/she is free to paint the eternal pitch black patch on his/her eyes with his/her own fantasies and imaginations....with his/her own colours....where that red could be anything ...anything he/she wants to be.....and not a predefined monotony of mere words that give a tag or name to beauties of nature.....
This is one of the most beautiful photos I have ever seen. In my opinion, speaking to a blind person can only be done in feelings of the moment. The senses are alive and well in all of us. Telling of the warm hues the coldness of white, the dark and hot red colors can help the blind to see in a way. Thank you for sharing. whonu
I really do agree with you whonunuwho.....we all have our own abilities and the blind are people who are just differently able....they are the ones who have got the choice to refuse to watch the negativities of the world....we all are blessed with our individualities and nothing truly happens for a bad cause....just the right words and positive thinking can swirl your world in the beautiful side....
P.S : The picture is truly a beautiful piece of nature.....
~ Thanks...

How would you describe "Red" to a blind person?Matter of fact, how would you describe any colour. For instance, if a blind person asked me what "yellow" was, i'd say something like "yellow is much like the feeling of happy or joy". But how would you guys describe Red?
