Thank you very much, Pamela! I appreciate you and I hope this finds you doing well. Happy Monday to you!
Good morning Bill, and thank you for tackling my question. I might run a portion of my manuscript past you to get your honest thoughts.
I hate the thought that we are nearing the end of this series. Wow, truly the end of an era for Hub Pages.
Stay dry dear friend.
Happy Monday Bill!
Thank you for sharing another wonderful edition of the mailbag. I liked reading through it, especially Linda's question and your answer.
Thanks for the weather update in your part of the World.
Thank you Pamela for sharing this in the forum. I am not getting all the email notifications, and it was good to find this in the forum.
Thank you for sharing.
Happy week to both of you.
Pamela, thank you for sharing Bill's Mailbag. I hate that we are counting down to the end of this series. I'll leave my thoughts on his reply to you.
Superb mailbag, Bill. Interesting questions and brilliant answers. Mondays will not be the same without your mailbag. I like flash fiction too. But telling a story with a limited number of words must be very difficult. I tend to mix first person and third person while writing too. When I reread it and realize i change it. Hope the weather improves for you over there. It can be quite messy walking the pets in the rain. Our pet hates the rain, refuses to budge when it rains. Have a great week ahead and stay safe.
It is always great to read another mailbag, Bill. Loved these questions and your answers. I too like to write in first person, and as for Randal’s question….flash fiction is my favourite type of story telling, but being a poet I love the shorter forms of writing so I suppose that is why. Your weather there would never get boring that is for sure. Have a wonderful week. Thanks Pamela.
Happy Monday!
Mr. Bill, thank you so much for another superb and informative mailbag. I always love and appreciate your kindness and supportive nature. May God always keep you and your sincere heart healthy and protected.
I particularly liked the question about 'stream of consciousness.' Your responses to each and every question were, as usual, wise and instructive. God Bless you and your family.
Thank you so much, Pamela, for posting this forum discussion.
Stay safe and healthy. Blessings to both of you!!
Excellent mailbag, Bill. Hard to believe we’re counting down the weeks to the end of this, but such is life and I know it’s time for you to move on to other endeavors. Have a great week.
It is hard to think of Mondays without Bill's Mailbag installment, but I guess we will adjust. Your weather, Bill, has certainly been challenging up in your neck of the woods. I hope everyone is safe and will remain so. No avalanches, etc. I think that I speak for many people when I say the following: we will look forward to your next online adventures. Thanks, Pamela, for sharing his latest post.
Bill
That saying is one we often say here in Ohio.
Sorry you are dealing with it. Last year I Remember jokes about mowing the lawn one day & shoveling snow the next.
Geez...it sounds like you did get quite a bit of snow. We always have flood warnings after it snows like that, but we've been quite fortunate this year.
I always get confused with 1st & 3rd person too.
One minute I'm writing in the first person and the next I'm in the 3rd one, but I usually go back and change it.
Writing flash fiction sounds fun. I might try that one day.
As for those thoughts in a character's head...I think they are great, but I'm not sure I could pull it off.
I hope your doggies let you wait a bit until the rain wasn't pounding down.
Have a great week.
Thank you, Bill, for another interesting edition of your series. Loved the questions and the answers. The weather you described in your area was interesting too. We hardly have snow in our part of the world. Happy Tuesday and a great week ahead.
Thank you, Pamela, for posting Bill's work.
So sad that the Mailbag is on its final count down. But, all good things must come to an end, as they say.
I agree with Bill's answer to Linda's question. Volleying between first and third person throughout a novel is confusing to the reader. As least it is for me. I don't want to have to try to figure out who's talking or what just happened to cause the bounce. I want to follow the story (effortlessly) and find myself in the scenery, the storyteller's mind, or at the very least, watch from afar. To me mixing first and third person is akin to jumbling verb tenses within a paragraph. It makes for a bumpy ride, in my opinion.
I look forward to your new endeavors, Bill. Can't wait for the kapow you put on the 400th edition of The Mailbag. I'm sure you've got something up your sleeve!
