Please take some time to read this excellent poem by John.
    Hello John!
I enjoy watching the game of Tennis. Yes, I had read about Novak Djokovic in the news. It’s a good idea to express your views in this poem, with reference to tennis. I enjoyed your poem, and also about, how you get inspiration for your excellent creative writing.
    Thank you for sharing.

Thank you so much, Chitrangada. Glad to hear that you enjoy tennis too. The decision to send Novak Djokovic home was quite controversial but seems to have simmered down. Take care.

It was great to read your poetry showing the remarkable analogy between life and tennis, John. I loved it and enjoyed reading about it. Thank you for your marvelous poem, along with the quotes, and everything else.

Thank you Chitrangada, for sharing John's post.

I really like what John had to say about inspiration. I find myself with same issue.

This is another good poem, John. I am not a great fan of tennis, but it is an exciting game. My best friend since childhood is an avid player, and she still plays.. I did enjoy all your quotes also.

Thanks for posting this article Chitrangada

I know tennis and sport are not everyone’s cup of tea, Pamela. My wife hates it and I haven’t played for years, but there are lessons to be learned through observing. Thank you for reading.

I loved playing tennis when I was younger. I wish I had been better than mediocre, but I still loved the game....a lot like life, eh?  Wishing for more than the reality of the situation, but still loving the act of playing.  Great insights here, my friend.

Same here Bill. I loved it when I was younger, especially doubles, but I moved on to table tennis eventually. Thank you for reading.

Thanks for sharing this piece Chitrangada.

    John...
It seems that more and more Sports are requiring proof of the Covid-19 vaccination.
It's sad he didn't follow the protocol.

Your muse is usually spot on..it knows when & what to write as you have proven once again with this piece.

Great write.   Now kick back and enjoy the games.

I can’t deny my muse, Brenda. She knows much better than I. Yes it is a shame some sports stars think they are above the rules. If Novak doesn’t want to jeopardise his career he may be forced to get vaccinated. France and Spain says all athletes will have to be vaccinated to compete there as well…and many others.

Thanks Chitrangada for sharing John's work with us.  It is true that people must follow the rules, especially in the midst of a worldwide pandemic.  It is a shame that Novak Djokovic thought he could skirt the rules.  Will this hurt his tennis career?  Only time will tell.

Hi Peg, I think Novak Djokovic will have no option other than to be vaccinated if he wants to continue his immediate career, but I read yesterday that he and his wife own 80% shares in a company that is trying to develop a cure for COVID. So, who knows. But this proved he isn’t above the rules.

I have heard the news about Novak Djokovic. And it proves that no one is above the law. Your every poem shows your talent for writing, Jodah. I admire you because of your writing capabilities.

Taking such steps by a country's administration demonstrates how important it is to follow the rules and laws of the country in order to live there.

    Stay safe and healthy...

Hello Moondot. Yes, if you are not willing to obey the laws of a country you are visiting you should think twice. The Australian Government’s tough stance just proves the laws will not be bent to suit someone famous.
Thank you for the generous comment about my writing. Take care.

I always love your poems. It is always new and you also do not copy the idea of others. I never that that tennis can be compared to life. Haha. smile  Even on Brenda's challenge, you always create poems unique to others. smile

Another great poem, John.  Tennis was my game in my youth also, and I still play occasionally now.  I’m looking to try pickle-ball soon, it looks interesting.  As others have said, rules are rules, and Australia did the right thing to cancel his visa.  He should seriously consider getting vaccinated if he wants to compete.

Hi Bill. I know you are a tennis fan. I still have my racquets at the ready if a relative comes to visit and agrees to hit the courts with me. “Pickle-ball?” Tell me about that. Novak always seems to attract some controversy doesn’t he? Yes, I feel the Australian authorities did the right thing enforcing the rules. Thank you for reading.

What a delightful read. John, I always feel afraid of playing tennis since my childhood days because once I had an accident while playing tennis with a friend when a ball badly hit my nose, but I still love to watch tennis. I wish and pray may this covid thing goes away as soon as possible. May God have mercy on all of us. Ameen!

As always a brilliant poem, my friend. Loved it! I always love and admire your art of poetry. Your first heading, 'Rules Aren't Meant to Be Broken,' I was just stuck there for about 2-3 minutes that is not what I have been learning since childhood.. tongue big_smile smile
Thank you so much for sharing!!

Chitra Di, thank you so much for sharing John's work smile

    Stay blessed and take care.

Many Blessings to both of you! smile

It is so good to receive your comment, Misbah. I remember you saying once before about your fear of tennis due to your childhood accident. Have you heard the saying, “if you are thrown from a horse you need to get back on” to conquer that fear? Maybe you need to try tennis again to conquer your fear. Anyway I am happy you enjoy my poetry…don’t go breaking any rules now haha. Blessings.

Oh! Yes, I remember I mentioned that accident before as well. I think I should try to play tennis once again to conquer my fear.smile

Haha!  I don't break a lot of rules but I love to break some of them very beautifully tongue big_smile

John, pickleball is a cross between tennis, badminton, and maybe ping pong.  Watch a You-Tube video of it.  A lot of the tennis courts in our area have pickleball lines painted on them.  It is quickly becoming very popular here in the states.  My brother plays a lot and although I haven’t played yet I plan to give it a whirl.
