This was a wonderful poem about John helping to man an art gallery. Customers were scarce but he wrote this poem to pass the time. And finally the good news is there were customers. Please read his poem at the following link:

    Hi John,
I loved your poetry with all the details of art in the gallery but no customers showing up, yet coming up with this comic poem to kill time, which brings a smile.

Wonderful poem, John. Your creativity is always at work, and you can compose poems on any topic. That reminds me of your, ‘Poems from the Porch’ series. An enjoyable read indeed.
Thank you for sharing this Rosina.
Happy day to both of you.

Hello Chitrangada. I am happy that you enjoyed this poem. yes, I agree creativity is always there, and you never know when you will be inspired to write and what the catalyst will be. I am glad this reminds you of Poems From the Porch, too. Much appreciated.

is the art gallery a business of your wife? It was a good read. Also, what pattern did you use? just wondering and curious.

    Thank you for sharing Rosina.

Hi Gianella, no, my wife had a fibre art item in the gallery as part of a display and we have to volunteer to man it one day every second month.
The pattern I used in the poetry was just in appearance. if you check the right-hand side it looks somewhat like:

      >

I enjoyed reading your interesting poem John. I used to make stained glass art all the time and sold several pieces. Waiting around for a customer can be a long day. It s nice that you and your wife volunteer together. I liked all of your pictures also.
Thanks foer posting John's article Rosina.

Thank you, Pamela. Yes, most days there at the gallery seem long. Every now and then it surprises though. Creating stained glass art must have been a very satisfying hobby.

John, this was a very entertaining poem. It was a fun read. I loved it very much maybe because I love arts. In my college days we used to have exhibitions of our work and portfolios every year. So the rest of my friends who weren't students of the arts were always like Haaa... How long will this last? I never had the opportunity to sell any of my artwork because I misplaced my portfolio when we moved to Spain from Pakistan... That is something I regret the most. I absolutely love your poem, as well as all of the beautiful images. However, your boredom entertained me... Lol! Thank you for sharing, John; it made me smile and brought back some pleasant memories.

Thank you, Rosina, for sharing John's poem.

    Blessings to both of you!!

Misbah, it pleases me to know this poem entertained you. It is so sad that you misplaced your art portfolio when you moved to Spain. I hope you can build up a new one because you are obviously a very artistic person.  Thank you for reading, and blessings to you.

A nice poem, John, written while waiting for customers at the Art Gallery. You have a remarkable spontaneity and ease in writing. Loved reading this poem and article.
Once I had written a Hindi short story sitting in front of an old, beautiful temple located in the middle of old Vadodara city, while waiting for my cousins to arrive for the shopping we had planned to do together in the surrounding areas. It got published in one of the local news papers and later, in some magazines and anthologies and so on .... smile smile
Thank you for triggering these memories.
Thanks, Rosina for sharing this here.

Hi Vanita, I am glad you could relate to this - writing to pass the time while waiting. It is good that it brought back memories and well done getting your story published in the local newspapers etc. Thanks for the kind words.

Thanks Rosina for sharing John's whimsical poem about waiting for the clock hands to move while manning that art gallery.  At one time I also had to spend time in an art gallery that carried some of my work.  I enjoyed all of the photos showing the wide variety of items for sale. The origin of the name of the town is also interesting.  I would say you made good use of your time John.  It was fun to read.

Hi John, very interesting read on the history of the town and about its unique name. I enjoyed reading the poem too. The pictures of the art gallery are also beautiful. It's your ingenuity John to get inspired by boredom to write a poem. Have a great day ahead, stay blessed.

Hello Vidya. Thank you for reading and commenting. I believe we need to try to find the positives in every situation. What better way to transform boredom than to write something creative. Have a wonderful day.

many people will answer with the examples of painting, music, photography, sculpture, or even theatre. Poetry is often left out of this category, though it strongly constitutes as such. It is a form of writing that uses words to create a picture, sound, or feeling. https://ncedcloud.fun/
