Brenda this is a touching poem, and the song by Casting Clowns “Scars in Heaven” is amazing.

      And now...
More teardrops fall as I learn this evening that Ron’s brother has passed away.

      John...
The song, " Scars in Heaven " is a powerful song that touches my heart as the teardrops fall....

      Too many friends are leaving...
A part of life which is becoming such a reality.

This poem expresses the loss very well. Tears happened with loss, but I know they are not enough. That longing in our hearts dims over time, but it doesn't leave. I always love reading your poems, Brenda.

Thanks for posting Brenda's poem, John.

Tears aren't enough.. but I don't thing anything else is either.

They do dim...that's the part that gets us through.

Brenda, tears aren't enough and nothing else is either. But you are enough and so is anybody else. Cry as much as you want to, and soon enough you will be strong enough to walk on your own feet.

Thanks, John, for sharing Brenda's post.

    Thanks Rosina...
    You are right.

I had so much to get done before, so the tears  didn't come that much.

I still have more to do, but I find the tears more often.
    Unbelievably...it helps.

    I'm fine.   No worries.

I've got that strength inside of me...it's just been hiding for awhile.

A very touching poem Brenda.Yes, I agree tears are not enough to cover the magnitude of any grief, but at least tears offer a way to dilute and share the grief instead of keeping it dammed inside. They help, albeit in a small way to keep our inner strengths from eroding. Thanks for sharing

    Thanks for sharing John

You are right...tears at least give us an outlet so that we don't harbor everything inside.
      Thanks for reading this one.

Well penned Brenda.  The loss of my son in 2006, still pains my heart to this day.  I share the loneliness that haunts you.

      Audrey,
I'm sorry to hear that you are haunted by this loneliness.

I can only imagine how much the loss of your son hurts.
It seems like it would be much harder.

      My thoughts are with you.

      Audrey...
They say time makes it easier...but I don't think it does.

It's been 9 months since Ron passed & it's still not easy.

I will keep his memory alive in my heart...just as you do for your son.

Sending you Big Hugs as we near this season of Thanksgiving & Christmas.

    Hello Brenda!
This is a touching and heartfelt poem. I agree, tears are not enough- -
And, there are some people who are not able to cry also. They remain in pain, with a heavy heart.
Take care and thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Thank you John for sharing this in the forum.

      Thank you Chitrangada...
That heavy heart you speak of is very hard to bear...letting the gradual tears flow certainly helps, but it's not quite enough.

I really doubt if anything ever takes the pain completely away.

One simply learns to move forward & carries it along.

A beautiful and touching poem, dear Bredz. Tears are sacred. They are not a sign of weakness but strength. Tears are an emotional reaction to pain, yet people who cry are not helpless and powerless because a teardrop on earth summons the King of heaven. smile
    Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for featuring her work in the forum, John.
Blessings to both of you! smile

      I like that...
Tears summon the king of heaven.

Tears are beautiful even though they fall at times when we are sad.

Brenda is right in her poem. Tears are often not enough when we have to deal with a loss. They can sometimes be helpful for mourning the loss of a loved one, but more help may be needed. I hope Brenda and other people find this help if they need it.

It's a tough road to walk...but it makes it worse when others are against you.

I know that Ron loved me...so it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.

      No worries

Heartfelt poem about tears and loss, Brenda. I had a good cry today at a funeral. The irony is we need to get the tears out, but we still have to live with the sadness. Sending you hugs and prayers as you miss your beloved Ron, through your tears.
