Take a few minutes to read John's excellent poem.

I remembered that you won last years award, and why weren't you even in the running this year? I find that a bit annoying.
As for this poem, it is excellent and I really enjoyed reading it. It really addressed the deeper meaning of poems. As you said, don't write in haste. Well done again, John!

Thank you for sharing this, Pamela. I am pleased that you enjoyed this poem and its meaning. I guess we need to hold on to the Hubbies we have won previously because with the new system we will be lucky to be nominated again.

John, your poem is both interesting and beautiful. Well, I don't care what people think when I make noise; what's the reason my friend, John Hansen, was not nominated for the best poet? I have no problems with others who are nominated; some of them are beautiful friends; I really made some noise on that forum, but HubPages ignored me, and I lost the fight. Lol! However, I believe they surely knew I was their formidable opponent. tongue
I suppose the award will include a mug or T-shirt and a handwritten note packed with glitter, but what's remarkable is that John Hansen rules people's hearts with his poetry, which is his greatest accomplishment and better than any award.
I really loved the poem, especially these lines:

The world today needs poets,.....A poem can make you feel.
And -- My rhyme has hidden magic...My poems will serve you well. smile

Your poems do serve well, my friend. smile
    Happy weekend!
    God bless you always!

    Thanks for sharing, Pamela.

Misbah, thank you for your beautiful words and for enjoying the poem. Last year I received a mug and a keyring and a glittery note. I still have them all as keepsakes, but the ‘HubPages’ name rubbed off the mug after first wash….so now it is just a standard white mug lol.

You are right, John. The world needs poets whose verses can soothe and heal, and your verses do precisely that. They are elegantly written and convey the power of poems through the hands of the poet master, A great topic with equally great execution. Thanks, for sharing.

    Thanks for sharing, Pamela.

    John...
At first you had me under your spell....
As only The Mighty Poeter could do...
But then I saw your image as Mickey Mouse ...
    I burst out laughing.

Love your poem...these words do seem to convey magic

    Poetry is only words
Of which I pull the strings.

Your words speak the truth as far as poetry goes.

There's usually a hidden message in the words...it's not just lingering on the surface.

It touches us like you say...bringing a grown man to tears.

    So...yes, to be called
    "The Poet Master"
would be a great honor indeed.

I really loved the video & how she came to appreciate poems.

Thanks for lightening the mood a bit, in this true - but fun piece.

Hey thanks, Brenda. I couldn't overdo the "seriousness" aspect....I had to throw a couple of smiles in there to lighten it. Glad Mickey worked.
