Thank you for sharing Pamela's article on snowflakes. As I recall, John, you've not had first-hand experience with snow. It is every bit as lovely and whimsical as Pamela describes it. That first snowfall puts a hush on all of nature. It's magical. But, after a day or two, it gets to be a pain in the patoot LOL.

Wonderful memories of snow, Pamela. Thanks for sharing, as well as sharing your poetry. I can say this: even at 73, the first snowfall of the year is magical. I just love to go out when it's snowing that first time, and walk the silent, muffled landscape.

Anyway, blessings to you always! Have a great weekend!

    Pamela
In your article, "My Memories of Snowflakes" you tell us about the different types of snowflakes and that the
simplest type of snowflake is a tiny hexagonal plate called diamond dust.

I'm impressed.  I know nothing about the details of snowflakes.
I just watch them fall from the sky.

You tell us about your memories of snowfall when you lived in Ohio.

How it's so beautiful when it snows for the first time & how you love taking a stroll.

The joyful times of making ice cream from the snow, making a snowman, having a snowball fight, putting on warm clothes to go outside, and taking a sled ride.

Your acrostic poem reminds us that each snowflake is unique as it falls to the ground making a magical wonderland.

It's so much fun to play outside in the snow as long as you bundle up.

Your poem, "Snowflakes" reminds us of the joy of Winter.

We will have snow more than once, so winter clothes is a must.

Boots & Gloves, getting all bundled up  to go outside.
When children run back inside needing to go to the bathroom.
Oh what a chore that is...but we smile & help them along the way.

That tediuos chore of shoveling the walk, only to have the wind blow snow back over it again.

This is truly the moments that snowflakes have in our lives.

I'm so used to having different wardrobes for each season...cold vs. Hot.

I don't know if I could handle living in a warmer climate & not having the chance to wear my beautiful cowneck sweaters or new winter coat.

But awe....the warmer temperatures sound nice.

I wonder what makes it so beautiful and quiet when we take those evening walks.

I enjoyed your videos.   No two snowflakes are alike, much like people.

Great write.  I'll post a link in the word prompt article.

A great response to Brenda's word prompt, Pamela. Thanks for sharing your memories of snow. I am sure it's great fun playing in the snow with children. I always enjoy looking at pictures of snow, especially during Christmas when the whole landscape is white and beautiful. Thanks John for sharing Pamela's article.

I have very similar memories as a child growing up in Wisconsin, Pamela.  The only exception is making ice cream using the snow.  Thanks for sharing Pamela's memories with us John.  It brought back good ones for me too!

We used to do that when I was a child.   It's absolutely delicious!

I very much appreciate your comments Brenda. You have explained my purpose in writing about the snow. Yes, it takes patience with little ones, but we love them so much we do just smile. Since we are in northern FL we do have some cold weather and were winter clothes, but it is not much overall. It does not snow here. Thank you for posting a link.

Vidy, I appreciate your comments. I am glad you enjoyed reading my memories of living with snow. We loved snow at Christmas. I am glad you consider this a great response to Brenda's prompt.

I know you had plenty of snow in Wisconsin, Peggy. Thank you for your comments, and I am sure our memories are similar. We didn't make ice cream very often, but we wanted to try it. I am glad I brought back some of your good memories.
