You're welcome, Linda. It was a fun do-over. Glad to know the poems evoked images for you. That was the goal. Thanks for reading.

    Janis...
    Your Haiku's are great.
I can really see the child splashing the mud puddle by stomping his boots.

Each one is unique and colorful for Spring.

    Great write.

Hi Brenda! Good to see you. I haven't been around lately to write, busy with other priorities. Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed them. I hope the rest you were taking last time I saw you worked out well.

        Janis...
Each time I'm ready to get back to writing...it seems something else happens to put me behind.
        I'll get there.

No worries about you not being here...priorities are important.

Keep doing what you do best.

Wonderful article, Janis.Haiku is one of my favorite poetic forms, and you are right in saying that it is one of the greatest brainteasers of poetry as it compels the poet to put the imagery synchronous with nature in a constrained syllable count.

The interesting thing about Haiku is that it was created in 9th century Japan by bored Japanese royals who had no entertainment of any sort to pass the dreary winter months. Who would have thought that something created to relieve boredom would become one of the pillars of poetry?

Your examples showing the spring are outstanding. Thanks for sharing. Thanks, John for sharing Janis's article.

Thank you so much, Ravi. I really appreciate your critique and the history you shared about how haiku started. Very interesting how the art came out of boredom during winter! I read that it was a way to celebrate Springtime. It makes even more sense now. I'm happy you enjoyed the article and my haiku.
