I have noticed spaces in my work too, I suppose this is where the adverts will go. I think it will make it harder for readers to make sense of what is written.

Pull it up on chrome or a browser and read it...
        You should see the ads.

Just now I checked to see it. One ad is at the beginning & found another 2 ads in the middle as of now.
I was shocked to see my recent article also. Ads are placed in the text capsules and there are blank spaces also in many text capsules. I don't understand their minds.

It's not good business sense to me.
I'd think the article would draw readers who would look at ads at the bottom.

Thank you for "speaking out" about this problem.  I am a little embarassed to have newer readers read my poems and poetry.  Some of them look awful, are unreadable, and have ads splicing and dicing everything up with huge spaces in between.

Yes.  It makes our words looks horrible.
I'm having trouble reading it, so why would anyone else even stay on the page.

You are right about that Brenda!
I find it so difficult to read my own work. Some or the other things pops up, several times, making it difficult to locate the original content.
I am sure, the readers must be leaving the page after reading the first 4 to 5 lines.
    So irritating!

      Chitrangada...
I totally agree.  It's very irritating.

I'm having problems just locating all of my poem.  I'm sure if ithers read it, they're thinking my work ended right there...right where the ads start.

Yet, there's more lines way down that no one gets to read.

I don't know who or what decided to put these ads in these locations, but its got to be hurting everything.

Nothing we can do...its sad to see our words tore apart like this.

      Have a great day.

According to the latest notice regarding the latest Google update, too many ads can negatively impact a site, and therefore, income.  It is a wonder we are still getting as many views as we are!  The ads interspersed throughout the site make reading of content difficult at best.

Well then...it's no wonder everyone is upset.
      There's too many ads.

It is a terrible look and reading experience, Brenda. Especially so with poetry because having adds in the middle of stanzas completely destroys the flow of the poetry, which is essential. It is so frustrating because all current advice goes against the overuse of advertising.

      John...
You are totally right when it comes to poetry.
By the time I find the next part...I've already lost the flow and meaning behind what I was reading.

    Brenda,
Thanks for posting. It is indeed awful and takes away from the craft. I agree with Genna that it's embarrassing to share. I still share on X, but I don't get any likes or feedback. I don't think the powers that be, including Google, really care about poetry, how it reads, nor how it looks. I'm not sure what to do about it. It's sad. What makes it worse is that all the ads are not bringing us any money. So what are we doing?

I've had people tell me that these ads pop up while they're readimg on a mobile phone and they stop reading.
I can't ask them to keep looking at my work when they get so frustrated.
      It's definitely sad.

Not at all the response I think Hubpages wants.
