Hello!
Though I only publish non-fiction here on hubpages (as well as a few other places around the web) I am primarily a fiction writer. I write in many diffrent genres, sci fi fantasy, romance, romantica, and literary fiction so I write under a handful of pen names. A couple novels (unpublished) and a number short stories under my belt. It's great to meet everyone! I hope we can all share in eachother's successes. There's so much mirth and so little genuine kinship amongst fiction writers.
Glad to know and follow you all! Good luck with your fiction writing!
Hi all, another fiction writer here. My genre is science fiction and I'm working on a paranormal thriller at present. Although, I write non-fiction paranormal hubs. Hope to get to know you all!
Thanks to those who have posted recently. It is very nice to meet you all and learn about your writing projects.
Hello - my name is Tara Anderton and I am a contemporary romance writer. I started writing 4 years ago and have written Glamour Girls (unpublished) and Gold Digger (in the process of being published) It is available for preorder at my author website) I am writing my third novel Ally in Disgise at the moment.
I also write a blog called Writing in Heels about life, writing and publishing a book.
I would love any kind of feedback on my writing.
Tara Anderton, Donnaisabella, and Setareh: Thanks for posting here, for helping to keep this thread going, and for telling about yourselves. Openness to critique is a good thing, especially if we can find some way to get things organized.
I really don't publish my fiction on Hubpages anymore, but I do write much more fiction than the stuff I publish on here. I will be sure to post if/when I have any fiction of note published.
I tend to write literary fiction. I find my writing most influenced by William Faulkner, Washington Irving, and Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
Yep - another aspiring author here. Written quite a few short stories and have 4 novels in the works - if I combined them it would probably make one very bad novel!
I tend to write in the Science Fiction and Fantasy genres - am trying my hand at a 'funny' fantasy novel which I may publish in parts on here!
I'm also tackling a very difficult 'factual' book for a very good friend - it's very daunting and is truly an incredible and devistating story - will probably publish Chapter one on here once I've completed it!
I want to read a funny fantasy novel! I've written some funny fantasy stories about a new Norse goddess named Blondhilda. On HP:
http://chrishugh.hubpages.com/hub/Blond … se-goddess
And there are others around the web.

Bobby's Heart (a valentine love story)
The power
Banned
Unspeakable Pain
..............and more
I’ll introduce myself as a Commercial Fiction Novelist.
My first Novel, The Shopkeeper is available as an EBook right now and is getting good sales response and receiving 5 Star reviews from readers.
The paperback edition should be available on Amazon by the middle of March, if not sooner. I just approved the final “Print Proofs” over the weekend and the publishing run is scheduled for this week.
If you would like to check out the book go to my website at www.theshopkeeper.net
Cdub, I enjoy literary fiction. Please keep us posted about your progress, whether or not you actually publish stories on HubPages.
SimeyC, it seems that you are a powerhouse of creativity. Thanks for sharing, and good luck!
Cardisa, I believe that I had heard something about your interest in writing fiction. Romance with a historical touch sounds great. It is very helpful for me to have those titles. Best of luck with your aspirations to get published!
Readytoescape, I will get your book into my online directory shortly, and look forward to seeing how your project turns out. Wishing you success!
I did some fiction stories. I like to write serialized and short fiction. Sometimes I write a micro detective or spooky story to introduce recipes. That's fun.
Hi!
This is me, introducing myself.
I'm working on a few different pieces, many still in the beginning stages. I'm always looking forward to feedback from other writers! I'll start posting a few little things here and there and see what happens, I suppose.
Thanks!
Katie
Isn't it true that anyone can get a book published with publishers such as smash words. So, it it is a bit crazy when we start saying well done, congrats etc when hubbers say they got a book published.
It is vanity publishing but thankfully free of charge. That is all that has changed.
Good point! I am not, to be honest, a big fan of when people start threads to announce their own books or other people's books. But it is so tough to sell any copies that people will use whatever means at their disposal. I also agree that with self-publishing or vanity publishing, quality is not guaranteed - reviews can help consumers sort through that.
Surely, it is still vanity publishing. Anyone can get a book done on places such as smashwords and get it listed on Amazon etc.
Hello, my name is brandy044 my Hub is a fictional novel titled "The Skies Above The Hell Below " that I have posted 41 minutes ago, it is just a few paragraphs but, would love to have feed back, will be posting more later to the novel if the feed back is worth adding more that is. I am very new to writing as you will see, so please do not laugh to loud..
Thank You,
Brandy from The Fictional Cafe
Greetings!
I have been Hubbing for two months now. The majority of my writing is flash fiction (usually fifty words) up to short stories.
Great to see so many writers of fiction on HP.
Hi, I've been writing on HubPages for about 16 months and have posted nearly 900 articles, prose and poetry as well as a few of my books in chapter posts. I have written and published twelve books prior to joining HubPages and have written non-fiction, two peotry books as well as plays, short stories and fiction in genres such as fantasy, historically based fiction, occult thriller, general fiction and sci-fi. I currently have two books on the drawing board, about half finished. These days I spend a great deal of time writing poetry and prose. I certainly need a break to go mainstream with my work, but have found it hard going. Take a look at my work, see what you think.
Best wishes,
Tony
Hi Everyone, I am sorry I'm so late to the party.
I've been writing on HubPages for about a month and a half. I've really enjoyed it and will surely continue whether I get rich or not. It's a great community.
On point, I've written all my life. Most of my writing has ended up in my desk drawer collection. I've written a lot of poetry and a few short stories. Being here has really gotten the juices flowing and now I aim to attempt a novel.
I have always enjoyed those books that can appeal to young adults as well as us old fogies. That is why I am hoping to start with a fiction novel that involves children in an adult type situation.
Nice to meet you here and wish me luck!
I am a writer who likes to write Science Fiction and some Fantasy. I have published one fiction story to the hub and I am brand new on this site.
Hello, my name is Deanna Proach. I've been on HubPages for almost two years, but haven't been an active member until now. I am just starting; learning the ropes and am looking forward to connecting with other fiction writers and story tellers.
Cheers:)
Hello!
I hope all is well in your part of the world. I am slowly working on a fiction book. I have three chapters completed so far. The story line is about a family who moves into a town where no one holds hands or shows any feeling. I got the idea off of a twilight zone episode, I recently watched. The town has limited amount of people. Most of the folks are children and teens. I will keep you posted. Take care..
Hi all , I am a teenager who loves writing fiction short stories , most of which are lying around my study room , recently trying to write a story on war fiction because like most children my age , I like reading fighting stories . Hope to find a good place here at HP.
Hello,
I am from Bangladesh, and I love reading as much as I love writing in my life. But,
I never get the time to post new write-ups here at as my exams are near. I am planning to study 'Journalism' and keep writing all my life, based on both reality and fiction.
I've been here for about a month and I have two hubs, but now that I know I can write fiction here that's going to change drastically. Quick question though what is the best word count if you're going to put a story up on HP? If it's anything less than 10 000 words then I'm not even going to bother trying. I guess you can't really put up a 150 000 word story here, probably too much for most people.
Hi my names Aiden and I write things that aren't true. I believe you call this "fiction".
K thanks bye.
I come from Hala New, Sindh, Pakistan. After retiring from a senior government position, I have started writing as a free lancer. My present books include: Spiritualism in the Poetry of Shah Latif Bhittai, Understanding Concepts of Commercial Banking, Hala and Halas in Historical Perspective and Miraculous Sufi Saints of Indus Valley (May be completed soon). I am now concentrating writing on "Sufi Saints of Asia and Fiction (Ghost) Stories". If any body is interested in my writings, I can be contacted on my email address as munawararbab@hotmail.com
Hello, my name is Jason and I live in the Chicago area. I am not a published author yet, but hope to be someday. My intention now is to put some of my stuff "out there" and get some constructive feedback on it.
Hello, I'm new to hubpages. I go by Franco, and I'm currently a junior in college pursuing a creative writing degree with a concentration in fiction. I love to write (and much of what I do is community/co-authored writing, but you will likely not see any of that here). I hope to share a lot of short stories, character sketches, prose poems--basically odds and ends. I would like to write stories that aren't definite and ending. I'm attracted to the idea of ongoing, periodical stories. Like a television show, but written and posted on the web every week or so. I am hoping that hubpages will get my writing some traffic as well as feedback. Plus it'd be cool to meet more writers.
I come from Pakistan. Did MBA from IBA, University of Karachi. After retiring from a Bank at a senior management level with both domestic and international banking experience, I am real estate developer and writing articles on "Sufi Saints of Asia and Fiction Stories".
My present published books include: Spiritualism in the Poetry of Shah Latif Bhittai, Understanding Concepts of Commercial Banking, Hala and Halas in Historical Perspective and Sufi Saints of Indus Valley (May be completed soon). My articles published on hubpages.com include Anecdotes about Shah Latif Bhittai, Anecdotes about Sachal Sarmast, Uniqueness in the Poetry of Shah Bhittai, Halakandi & Halas, Surs (Musical Tones) in Poetry of Shah Latif Bhittai and Journey to Lahut LaMakan.
If any body is interested in my writings, I can be contacted on my email address as munawararbab@hotmail.com
Hi, my name is Jack and I'm new here. I am a fiction writer, among other things. Lately I've found myself writing a lot of science fiction and fantasy. I also enjoy literary fiction, and have really enjoyed what I've seen on this site so far
Hi my name is Amy and I love to write Science Fiction and Fantasy related Short Stories. I am working on a Post Apocoliptic story that is loosely based on the hunger Games idea. I have one poem published in an anthology and a couple of short stories have been published in spectacular speculations which is an e-zeine. I also have a collection of short stories published in the free section of Feedbooks. My aim when writing is not to make money. I do it just for enjoyment.
Hi I'm Kayla and I like to write fiction. I've finished a fantasy-adventure novel that I'm posting on hub pages if you'd likw to check it out. I also write poetry and I put on a couple of my own plays when I was younger for talent shows. Honestly, I've been writing my whole life. Started to write my own autobiography when I was in the 2nd grade. There was just something about putting a pen to paper...
Well now, my name is Alexander O., yet I choose to portray myself online under Jester (with some variation of 4's and 5's following afterward). I wrote almost constantly throughout my high school career, as focusing on my classes was dreadfully dreary, but it wasn't until recently I actually began to think of taking my love for writing and applying it toward career searching. Simply stated, I love playing with words. There appears to be no end to the variations of worlds, creatures, people, and stories that can be forged from a mere stringing of letters. Truly, that is perhaps what's most fascinating about writing - that we only have 26 letters, and yet we're able to create an infinite number of ideas and tales from those symbols.
I am working on a six (seven if you count the prelude) book long fantasy series that I hope to be fairly popular, but if not, at least I can say that I had fun writing the stories and bringing my characters to life. Currently - in an attempt to make some money - I will be putting most of my energy into beginning a fan-fiction tale that follows my character in the RPG Fallout New Vegas as I travel through the game and work toward completing the story line once again. Essentially, the series will read much like any other first person story, but will also be an interesting guide for others who are curious about how another player may have gotten through the various assortment of quests available in the game.
Hi, my name is Rikke
I've been writing for most of my teenage years, but a around last October, I got the inspiration for a book, and have been working on it ever since.
I'm currently finishing sixthform, so I don't have as much time to write as I'd like, but I'll be done in a few weeks, and can hopefully get a good dig in after that.
I dream of becoming a writer, but I'm a realist and will therefore take the safer rode of university and steady job and simply write on the side.
Hello, I am from Buford, Georgia and my name is Lara. I write about pretty much anything that I can think of. Currently, I am working on a novel, a children's story book, and poetry. I have always had a passion for writing. Just the sheer thought of making a world that is purely your own creation is simply wonderful. Writing is something that I wish I could devote more time too but between two jobs, school, and just life in generally there really is not any time left. So, I take notebooks with me to jot down notes whenever inspiration hits because that is always the best time for me to start a project. Writing is a hobby currently but hopefully I can turn my passion into something more.
Hello, I'm Jeremy and I'm new to hubpages. I enjoy writing as a hobby but I don't consider myself to be very good. I would love to get input on how I could improve.
My name's Mack. I just joined a few days back, I'm hoping that I can write some good articles and get a little extra income, and eventually become a published author and get to work from home. It's gonna be a long road, but it's worth a shot I think.
Right now I have a few short stories under my belt, they're almost all fantasy, and they're all character backgrounds from role playing games. I've got an idea going for a novella/novel, and another idea for a novel (or two), but I've got a lot of work to do before I think they'll be good enough for public eyes.
My style tends to be rather descriptive, but emotionless. That's something I'd like to work on with some short stories, and I think I'll post some works here, and would welcome any feedback I can get.
The more red pen I see, so to speak, on my works the better I'll feel. More mistakes now is less when it matters.
Hey, my name's Cassidy. I published my first book in November. It's a YA epic fantasy named A Broken World. I haven't written any fiction on HubPages yet, but maybe someday I will. I am currently working on another fantasy book, and I am also trying to publish a few short stories as well.
My name is Tamia. I wrote a book in 2006 but I have yet to publish it. I have found it difficult to get to the next step. I heard the best way to go is to self publish but i am not sure. My book is fiction, I am not sure of the genre it is not exactly romance, nor is it street literature. A point in the right direction would be awesome.
Hi, i have a a few short diary entry type hubs on hubpages, and like to write short fantasy stories for children and a novelette i started.
Hello all, I write poetry, fan fiction and am currently working on a novel for teens/young adults. Most of my writings are supe lit.
Hi!! I'm Aubrey and I write fiction fantasy. I'm ALWAYS looking for feedback on my work. It's the hardest thing to get these days... *sigh*. I've got four books finished (two of which are published) and I'm not writing my fifth book, the first book of a new book series! So excited. Check it out if you want.
Hello!!! I'm Teresa and I have only been on here for about 3 months and I have written two travel pages so far of my favorite places I have been. I have begun working on a fiction. I have always loved westerns maybe because my family are American Indian and my book "Miss Prichard" will be a western. I do ask for all feedback I can get on all my pages I put out. I write because I love to write. :-)
That's great to hear. I was actually talking to a family member about getting into the Western Genre... watching movies and reading books. I think people have forgotten the genre over time. Let's hope your book brings it back!!
If done well, it can be a great genre. There are several wonderful Western authors to check out on here...WillStarr, Wayne Brown and Ghost32 are some good ones to start with!
Hi,I have been with Hub pages for two years, but never really wrote anything until lately. I love to write, and I don't try and force it or I cannot do it. I love the feedback it lets me know where I stand. I write whatever comes to mind at the time. I like writing fiction. However, I have written one fiction and two events that happened to me so far.
Hi, my name is Hugh Centerville. I just joined Hubpages a few months ago and write mostly short fiction pieces, old time baseball and folklore, Johnny Appleseed, Uncle Sam kind of stuff. I am also a self-published author with 3 e-books, well, 2 and a 1/2. 1, the Denouement, is a wierd kind of Christian-fantasy blend, the other 2, Bobby Slater's World and Lottie Barrett Lives (Again,) are what I call paranormal boomer fiction. It's the 1960s, not the turbulent 60s but the 60s before all the craziness started.
Constructive, polite feedback will be appreciated.
Hi Website Examiner,
I have written a few pieces in my other account Julie2 as well as this one. I love writing stories. My goal is to always keep the reader engaged and wanting more.
Hi,
I'm a fiction writer from India. My book The Second Choice (general fiction) is available both online and offline. The printed version is available only in India.Though it was published by a small publisher I have to do the promotion work. As a part of it, I have now created a giveaway at goodreads.
I'm now in the work of my 2nd novel.
I have written few children's books also.
Hi, I'm Chris Hugh. I write fiction, mostly humor. I have Blondhilda, the newest of the Norse gods. She came into being when Stanley Chester Brown (computer enthusiast and famous graphic novelist) had two Blondhilda comics on the NYT bestsellers list simultaneously. "Blondhilda and the Tongue Ring of Thunder" is his most acclaimed work. Blondhilda has the power to kick someone into geosynchronous orbit, but most often vanguishes through her razor sharp but somewhat naive intellect.
I also have two black cats, Twitch and Mr. Kitten. They get into many humorous adventures in their stories and in real life. They even have a wordpress blog, Furryoverlord. Sometimes they are turned into human beings. Whether human or cat, they get into trouble.
Twitch is subject to bladder problems and struvite crystals in his urine. In one story, he and Blondhilda were trapped in a freezing storage room. His struvite crystals came in handy when they were able to use a crystal to focus a laser and cut their way through the steel walls to freedom.
I've also written parodies of Dan Brown and Stieg Larsson: "The Veni Vidi Vici Code," "The Last Cymbal" and "The Dragon with the Girl Tattoo." I have a lot of stories on my blog, which you can reach through my profile here.
It's a shame there isn't a better venue here for fiction writers to show their work to the world. I think there's money to be made if HP would simply support an occasional collection of creative fiction hubs for the best of our efforts. But still, it is good to be able to publish our work here and get at least a bit of exposure. Perhaps it may lead to something eventually.
Just came across this forum, figured I'd introduce myself. My name is Jenn, 25 years old. I'm currently working on some short stories as well as a fiction novel. When writing fiction I usually lean more in the horror genre, though I don't let it define me. I am newer to HP and would appreciate any feedback I could get, on my hubs or in general. I always take to heart the words from other writers.
Hello Jenn welcome to HP..I am not used to get here as I don't often write stories. But I love reading other hubbers. I do write anything but not much. Again welcome to HP!!!!!
Just joined Hubpages, so I shall introduce myself. I write anything and everything, and I am currently working on a YA novel. It's taken me a while though, so whether it will get finished, I'm not sure!! As you can probably tell, I'm not published yet, but I'm still working on it. Like Jenn, I would appreciate any feedback on my hubs.

The discussion forum "Fiction Writers - Please Introduce Yourselves" (located at http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/91914 started by Website Examiner) is almost two years old. Website Examiner is no longer on HP. As I scrolled through the posts, I also noticed some of the hubbers are...

Hi, everyone. Thank you in advance for reading; this is a little long-winded.When I was a kid, I loved writing books. I'd sit at the computer for hours, typing. I knew I was going to be a writer one day. Even my elementary school teacher said I had talent. When I was 22 I got a publishing contract...

I feel concerned that the reason google may prefer ehow as opposed to hubpages, is because there is an abundance of poetry and short stories. I am not by any means saying that those who publish the short stories and poetry are not good, but they are not usually searchable or high market. I...

A few of us poets and creative writers have come up with the idea of creating our own website specifically for all forms of creative writing. The catalyst for this is HubPages decision to create niche websites for various subjects. However they have stated that poetry and creative writing will not...

I'm here to read and share fiction. I'm looking for the same sort of people, especially if they are interested in giving and receiving constructive feedback. Thanks.-Chris

I've noticed that Fiction seems to be very rare on HubPages. Or is it just me?
