Is Jihad necessary by the Muslims to spread Islam given the present birth rate of Muslims where they will be the dominant religious majority by the next century? India has registered a growth of 24% in the Muslim population within the last decade, a growth index that is true for other nations as well since multiple marriages are allowed by the religion and birth control is not favored, if not abhorred. Other religious followings will be minorities anyway, so why the rush to fight with everyone if they are aware of the facts and figures anyway?
Jihad does not necessarily mean war.
....Many observers—both Muslim and non-Muslim talk of jihad having two meanings: an inner spiritual struggle—the "greater jihad"; and an outer physical struggle against the enemies of Islam—the "lesser jihad" which may take a violent or non-violent form. - Wikipedia...
Jihad is supposed to be declared by a Caliph and has not been since the Caliphate office has been vacated around 1923. So who is supposed to be in charge of it and under what circumstances has it been found to happen has to be the question to your summation? Who is practicing the real Islam if the rules by which Jihad is to take place?
There are so many fallacies in the way you pose this so called question that it cannot be sensibly answered.
Hello psycheskinner. What is the proper way of posing this? I want to say that Muslims will outnumber any other religious following in the world by the next century, given their phenomenal birth rate. They will thus be the predominant religion anyway. Jihad is aimed at non-believers, at least the external manifestation by the hardliners. I find it futile given the statistics and the passage of time.
