Hand it in at the police station: in the UK you can be prosecuted for "theft by finding". If the wallet and contents (or anything else you find) is not claimed within 6 months you become the rightful owner.
Alternatively, if there is evidence of the owner then you might consider returning the item direct.
Just think how you would feel if you had lost your wallet.
The same as I would wish them to do if they found my wallet... return it, intact, including all the cash.
I consider what you do to others that which will be done to you...
So, I would return the wallet as I found it and I would refuse a reward.
Hopefully, the same would happen to me if I ever lose my wallet!
I'll definetely return it.IDs and other documents,as well as the money, are important to the owner. I hope someone would do the same if i lost my wallet.
I will definitely try to return it to the owner. It will be some ones hard earn money.
search for the owner by a clue from the purse and return it or if not foung give the money if any in charity.
I have found several and have always returned them. The look on a person's face is priceless. I was recently getting out of my car in my grocery store's parking lot and just grabbed the cart closest to my car. In the seat part of the cart were a few ads and hiding among them was a very large and bulging ladies wallet. Didn't look inside, just took it to customer service, luckly I knew the office cashier personally, and gave it to her. There is no other option unless you want to compromise your integrity. Do the right thing and you will be rewarded!! Maybe not immediately, but you will be rewarded.
I would return the wallet without thinking twice and also without expecting a reward. Ill gotten gains ultimately bring sadness to the soul.
I would immediately look for the owner's contact information so that I can return it. I would hope that nothing is missing so that the owner doesn't suspect me of keeping his items. If I can't find any contact information, I would turn it in "some place"...and "some place" would depend on where I found it.

As I was putting together a computer from old parts, I found a hard drive that someone didn't erase. It was full of the owners emails. I felt a wrong reading them. But this passed quickly as I found them to be truthful, funny, romantic and touching. It's a real love story unfolding before your...
