What country do you think will be the next superpower after the US?

It seems that economy is the number one factor to be considered here, why because you can buy a lot of  ammunition, further research and development if the country is improving economically, thus it is bigger chance for being a superprower. Military power is another factor. Population and the quality of life is a lesser factor.

What is your take on this?

In my opinion I think China will be, or already is a more superpower than the United States. Unfortunately, sending them Americans jobs has a lot to do with their economy.

If economy had anything to do with it, the USSR would have never been considered a superpower. The term relates to military power and geo-political control. The US is still the strongest military power in the history of the world.

China has the means to be. And definitely the troops.

China. They have the economy and the population. Plus, due to our indebtedness to them, they already own us.

Based on pure demographics it would be china.  However they have along way to go in terms of technology.  A prominent Phd in electrical engineering said to me at a conference recently that the difference between China's engenuity and the US is that the Chinese engineer will study a problem in the text book until it's fixed. But if the answer is not in the textbook, he can't fix it.  The US engineer will rewrite the text book.  That is what keeps us on top for now.

In terms of what makes a super power, there are none after the U.S. China is limited by its huge population and will increase in some powers, yet will always be handicapped by its inability to supply water and food, the basic needs to its public. The weapons and economic strength, overall, are good and yet has insurmountable heights to reach. The United States still, despite its problems, is in the lead for now. Russia was once a super power and has declined significantly in the recent past in many areas that require much improvement. The biggest threat to everyone is the small nuclear power countries lead by fanatical people who think nothing about sacrificing millions in order to gain superiority. Unfortunately these threats were brought about by the nuclear race in the beginning and its status as world power. Now we all live under the fear maintained by our worrying that a seemingly small incident may escalate overnight into world disaster.

    China, they own our debt.

They are taking our worthless dollars and trading them for gold, silver, and oil.

Although I am not sure because...

The US has the world reserve currency.  Meaning our dollar backs almost every currency in the world.  When our dollar fails, so will everyone else.  When the dollar crashes a new world currency will come into place as well as world government.

    So not sure.

World government will be attempted, but they'll lose control of their loose canon. The Rockefellers and Rothschilds don't know the mess they're creating and the won't be able to contain it. It will take an act of God to keep a few of us alive.

A country that controls its people will never be a superpower. A country where the people are free will be a superpower. More and more the U.S.A. controls its people. China controls its people. I don't know which country gives its people enough freedom to become the next superpower.

The New World Order will attempt to be the next superpower. With a one-world government, there won't be room for anyone else. National sovereignty will become a thing of the past.

In fact, Obama and his banker buddies are trying to finish up the job of dismantling America as we speak. The Corporate Party media is doing a bang-up job of keeping alive the illusions of normality and choice.

Obama betrayed his Oath of Office to protect the Constitution, just like Bush.

What would you do if you found out that the American Constitution had been shredded?

What would you do if you found out that 9/11 was an inside job?

Here are dozens of scientists, engineers and architects who demand a new 9/11 investigation because the official story doesn't add up:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7JCqlF24pI

In fact, what they've found proves that 9/11 was an inside job. How? Because 3 buildings in New York were brought down by controlled demolition, and it takes weeks of unfettered access to prepare such heavily-secured buildings for that.

If we woke up to these facts and did something about it, like our Founding Fathers did more than 200 years ago, then we might have a chance to reclaim America's future.

As it is now, Obama has failed to restore Habeas Corpus as he promised, he has his Kill List with American citizens on it, he refused to obey a Federal Court judge on the unconstitutionality of the NDAA's indefinite detention clauses for American citizens, and he even said that those in Gitmo that are found innocent should be kept there forever.

America is losing because the power elite want America dismantled. It's an impediment. It's in the way.

Look at the $16+ Trillion in National Debt. That debt Bubble is going to pop.

Look at the state of party politics. They've done away with voting and Roberts Rules of Order. It's now all scripted.

And here's a funny video that'll make you cry when it all sinks in:

I love America and it breaks my heart to see these things being done to her.

We need to wake up and not be fooled like the Germans 80 years ago. It's our choice -- let America die, or do something about it. Shine a light on evil.

I totally agree with whonunuwho, a previous commenter. It seems to me to be China, however, long term internal strife may be coming in the future. Economically India is also on the rise, as is Brazil.

I think China will be the next superpower after the US if political crisis will not occur there.
