Do you believe that the Boston bombings was a terrorist attack?
No. I believe that our government is smart enough to make us believe that those artisanal bombs were made by individuals. If we can drone a, b or c from here we can also see by satellites what's going on here. Furthermore our government boasted of their capability to intercept any data through emails, the web... and they are going to tell me that they couldn't catch an average joe with "crudely made devices"? No, it is more refined.
The real question is who will benefit from the crime? Let me guess. Another law will be implemented? I am eager to see the next episode.
What surprises me is our apathy. We are accepting to be sacrificed for their interests. Bush and co were not punished for their deliberate actions. By our silence we implicitely gave our government a licence to kill.
The bombing itself was a terrorist attack. But I'm guessing what you mean is that the bombs were planted by foreigners. That's possible, but it's unlikely. Unfortunately, this was probably done by an American or a group of Americans.
So you think it was an inside job.
Was 9/11 an inside job too!?
I think that you may be asking, "was the Boston bombing an act of political terrorism?" The bombing was clearly an act of terror - bombs are always terrifying. And terrorism is any criminal act designed to create terror. As to whether the bombing was an act of political terrorism, we don't know enough yet to be certain. And it also depends on one's definition of political terrorism.
It certainly wasn't classic political terrorism. In classic political terrorism, there is a political group involved, it has a name and an agenda, and it claims responsibility for the attack and makes demands on society or government. Nothing like that happened here.
It appears to be in the same shadowy area that the 2002 Beltway Sniper attacks were - serial/spree killing terrorism by a person who was motivated partially by political views (and someone under his close influence). See my hub: "Boston Marathon Bombings: The Cost of Living in a Free Society" for more.
See how soon we forget. I remember that incident in 2002
We know it was a terror attack. But not like 9/11
No, I don't. It was mentioned earlier that the one boy, that is still alive, had a hard time with belonging. Lots of these kids have mentioned that. What or why do they feel like they don't belong or fit in? What can we as a community do to see that everyone fits in? People are trained from birth to separate themselves from others be it Religion, race, color and creed and I remember that Martin Luther King JR spoke out about that. Judging by these kids (all of the mass murderers) statements and feeling it appears that we have gotten worse instead of better.
I think this is the dumbest question or one of the dumbest I've ever heard.
The older kid went back to Russia? I'm not sure why.
The younger kid was driving the car that killed the MIT police officer
It wasn't a random act.
There's been too many close calls its just that we were concentrating on other terrorist in different parts of the country.
I guess we ought to judge for ourselves.
But if you don't think it was a terror attack, then how did so many people get hurt?
Think back to all the stuff that has gone on. We missed this one because we are so damn busy worrying about gun laws.
Too bad we forgot the children killed in December.
Any act that destroys a life or lives is an act of terror.
