What's your opinion on Palin?
My opinion is pretty simple. She's the dumbest person ever to get to participate in politics. My 14 year old son could run a state better than she is doing.
I just saw on ET she's actually using her power to keep her ex son in law from seeing the child he has with Palin's daughter. Corruption or what?
*tongue in cheek* is it a coincidence that she could become president in 2012 and the world ends in 2012? Someone needs to tell her what that 'little red button' does!
Being serious - it's very difficult to judge how good or bad a politician is these days - all we get is the partisan press saying how good or how bad she is - there's no neutral outlet to actually tell us!
She seems good - personally I feel she needs a lot more experience before she 'tries' to become president...
What State is she running again? Dumbest person ever...you sure?
Palin and Obama are the dumbest people who have ever been allowed to participate in national politics.
And she's running Alaska, which is barely a state.
Uhm!!!! She resigned as governer Sarah Palin is an American Citizen..
No. She's not running Alaska. She resigned.
Wow, you really have no clue do you? You may want to check your sources before you call other people dumb! Obama is far from dumb, corrupt socialist, but he ain't dumb!
In no way could Obama be described as dumb with that I agree.
Oh wow.. She resigned in July. Okay, this is just bad for me. I don't follow Alaska politics..
You said Palin was the dumbest ever, she comes from Alaska, you obviously followed that much of Alaska politics. It was national news, even in Alabama!
Is that Alabaman for "I have no fricken clue"?
I think enough time has been spent on your post of insignificance! By the way, did you know George Wallace was dead?
Cut me some slack. I'm a shrink, I'm not very bright.
Trust me, I'm cutting you a lot of slack, but don't blame your education.
Hey! I'm very smart. I just don't like politics.
Then don't talk politics, it makes your statement about being smart, dumb!
You're not very nice. You probably use sarcasm as a defense mechanism alot, and I'm fairly sure you have a very big ego.
I don't like judgmental people who defame a Woman who has accomplished more than anyone posting on this site! We can all have opinions but sometimes the stupidity of those expressing them should be shown, yours has been exposed! Practice your quackery on those with penis envy, say, Mark Knowles or Lita Sorenson!
I hate to inform you, your son resigned in August.
Oh I dont think she is that dumb at all, to say so is insulting all the people who voted for her as mayor and gov in Alaska and the Republicans who chose her as the running mate of Mc Cain
the media is very powerful in portraying her to be that dumb,
hey Advice want to check my hub about childrens donation? you were asking about it the other day?
thanks, Maita
A dead subject and not worth the effort to talk about.
Really guys; are you all infected with testostrone poisoning? She is a hyena chasing a lion. Get over it. She is an ordinary twit jerked out of her mediocrity by a group of cynical politicians thinking they could manipulate her. Unfortunately for them, they gave this high-school bully air time, and now Ms. Ambition is all about the power. Insult her voters? Not possible. If you can call Obama a socialist, you don't have a clue either. As a fellow Texan, you'll, please quit making us look so damned bad.
Well put! During the whole campaign, I watched as she skillfully avoided answering any question directly by manipulating her response to talk about only what she wanted. That is fine and dandy for a pr specialist but being govenor for Alaska, while a large state, is sparcely poplulated by a very conservative group of people who can be easily pacified. Try being the govenor of New York when 9/11 hit. Gullianni handled the trauma better than Bush did, in my opinion.
Even in the interview with her daughter, Palin pushed her way in front of the cameras. She is indeed attracted to the attention and power and not so much the country's best interest. I am neither a republican or a democrat but I am a woman and I have seen her kind before. She is only for her reputation, not using her intelligence and even her good looks, to better the world she lives in. She was supposed to be a performing monkey in heels there to off-set the race card but they picked the wrong monkey.
She is another perfect front person for the Republican party. She will repeat what her handlers tell her to say, cut the deals big business wants her too and fight the wars they want her to help further her lobbyists and owners. The GOP could not have found a better fill in after Bush. Trouble is why do they always get someone who can't carry on an intelligent conversation?
I love her! I think she's great! She'd make a great president and I don't think she's as dumb as the media makes her out to be. By all accounts she did a great job as mayor and as governor.
I think she's smart. And dangerous.
She's no one's fool when it comes to milking the public, media and the country for support. However, I think she's a flash in the pan. Being savvy about garnering attention is not like having qualifications for running a whole country.
Pretty much. The difference is that I think Obama has qualifications that Palin does not, but Obama hides his motives and agenda under broad public support issues like health care, economic recovery, etc.
I think she's smarter than she is given credit for, but I don't think she's good for the country. She's rousing a lot of rabble that won't lead anywhere good.
We already did this 145 years ago. It wasn't fun.
I think she could win in 2012 if things keep going bad, and they will keep going bad. The country is in very, very bad shape.
She is an articulate intelligent woman. She is a private citizen not a civil servant. She has every right to voice her opinion. You have every right to disagree with her. What puzzles me is how much critical reviews her book received as far as fact checking goes. Yet I have seen no such reviews for Al Gore's latest propaganda pamphlet.
You know all that ice will be gone in about 5 years, oh wait, he lied about his stats on that, he was qualified to be President.
so...it's not the fact that the facts were wrong it's just the fact that fact checking was done?
Don't mind the fact checking she is a very public figure so no issues though I think the media should at least provide some semblance of fairness and do a bit more fact checking on the left side of things. Had they done so "Inconvenient Truth' would have been retitled to the Truth is Inconvenient for Al Gore.
The fact is she is a private citizen writing her memoirs which by the way has probably outsold every liberally biased book printed in the last decade. Fact checking is fine for Sarah Palin who is telling her story but fact checking Al Gore's politically motivated agenda pushing propaganda, straight to the bargain bin book requires no fact checking?
Hypocritical eh??
Fiction always does outsell non-fiction
So a liberal can write any BS he wants without scrutiny.
You ever notice asking a liberal a point blank question really never gets a response?
That is true the answer usually results in calling me something nasty.
I am not speaking of anyone in these forums in fact everyone here has been very polite to me. I enjoy these forums very much and in no way do I mean to insult anyone in the forums if I have I apologize.
Did I say that? There are a gazillion right wing sites that have probably torn apart anything Al Gore has said, true facts or not.
Of course it does not make it right if that is the way it is. It aalso does not give anyone else the right to state things he/she did while in office that are untrue.
I don't know about the presidency but look at where we are now. She seems to be a good spokeperson for the right but still another one not quite ready for the job.
I think she will keep doing what she is doing and pair up with whoever is strongest on the right come 2012. People write her off as not qualified but George Bush was arguably not qualified and he served two terms. Molly Ivins wrote book after book warning the public about what a Bush presidency would do, and he was able to get in (and be elected once) anyway.
I do think she is a stronger contender than many on the left think.
No one but Sarah Palin herself knows what she intends to do in the future. What if she fills in Oprah's time slot? She may go into journalism as she has experience in that field.
Talk to any politician and you're going to receive some sort of spin for a response. Quit the B.S. most if not all politicians have a hidden agenda. NONE of them are honest.
Please...open your eyes!
A Texan Even when insulted I try to maintain a higher ground I do not want to personnally insult anyone at anytime. If the truth is insulting then so be it for I will tell my truth every time.
Truth is never an insult. Insults are subjective interpretation by one's own view or morality.
Is that your picture or the picture of the one who played in "The new Guy"? Just wondering
As a used car salesman I can tell you that the most anger you can get from someone is after telling them the truth. I now start with the phrase "If I tell you the truth are you going to be mad at me" just to prepare them.
I worked as a used car salesman at a we finance lot, I sold more cars by telling the truth than my coworkers did by lying.
When you discuss the flaws of their trade or their credit status sometimes the truth hurts. I have never lied to sell a car.
I'm not afraid to speak up and say that I am a supporter of Sarah Palin 100%. I admire her for her courage & honesty, as well as her ability to overcome adversity and turn the negative attention she's recieved into a positive. Good grief, look how she's been attacked. I think she's a lot smarter than anyone gives her credit for. Media bias is rampant and has been directed at her in every way, form and fashion. Go for it Sarah Palin! Stand up for your values, whether people like it or not!
You just said all that needs to be said. Great comment.
Democrats hope that many Republicans agree with this.
I believe you are right.
Why anyone thinks that we would want another inexperienced President is beyond me. I honestly feel like Palin is less equipped to be the Pres. than even Obama, even though she has actual executive experience.
I do understand why people like her, but this leads me to my prediction for 2012:
If Palin runs, either as the Republican nominee or as a third party candidate, Obama will win a second term.
Independents are not going to vote for her. I'm conservative, but I wouldn't vote for her. So, think seriously; if you don't want Obama in the WH a 2nd time, please don't give Palin a 2nd thought as a serious candidate.
I do not believe this comment mentioned Palin for President?
Your point?
Seriously? You don't think that this is what all the hooplah surrounding Palin is leading up to? Will she or won't she?
I'm hoping she won't.
As long as she keeps yappin', Dems will be in good shape.
I would not ever vote for her as our President and as far as her ex-son-law is considered it is his child to! She is just creating more dysfunction for the little boy which is not acceptable in my eyes.
Sarah Palin....HMMM. Ok here it goes. All the talk about "experience" and "leadership" in regards to being President is silly. Its very clear what it takes to become President....MONEY and lots of it!
She has a great grass roots following. I think that will grow, however I don't believe she can get the dollars to make her campaign viable.
Being an effective President has less to do with great ideas than it has to do with the ability to rally folks around your cause.
Sarah Palin
(Am I allowed to use that at least in this thread? ( Incorrectly labeling this as a personal attack would be even more ironic here).
As much as I am for women in politics....yikes - I would rather have a guy in drag for president (okay probably not) than Sarah Palin...I'm with Simon - if she gets near the red button, she might mistake that for the correct answer on Jeopardy or something....come to think of that, that would be highly appropriate! Aren't we all in 'jeopardy' these days?
She's got the energy & charisma but in these times podium presence means nothing as REAL economic troubles are ahead. We need a real economist to fix things not speech givers like her or the current administration. People are tired of good speeches but empty pockets .Peter Schiff for President/ or for Senator at least. Dump Dodd in Connecticut!!!
She won't run for next President anyway. Her charisma will lead her on the path to a new 'talk' show and she'll become the next Oprah in Oprah's retirement. I don't know why Dems are so scared of her. I've never seen anthing like it. A whole year plus since the loss and they still won't shut up about her like she won and she wasnt even the main candidate. They're scared of a LOSING VP candidate. IDKY!
I don't think Democrats are scared of her as much as incredulous to believe she is a good choice to run in the first place. Even though we have proven in the last few elections that the credentials are not as important as the political machine backed by big business, there is even less credibility in her candidacy by her loonyness.
But as with the last two elections special interest is what comes first and wouldn't a big in your face snub be by big business if she were to get elected. Kind of like the crowning glory of a system where the only power comes from the elite big money people and the serfs don't matter any more.
I can see the "You Betcha" and a wink right now after she gets her backers in tow.
Sarah Palin has no substance. Walking away from the office of State Governor is not something a person qualified for the position would do.
This was the biggest issue as far as I'm concerned....you don't just quit...EVER
Some guy tossed tomatos at her at a Costco book signing I think in Mich. Her next stop is here in Utah and the managment of Costco had all tomatos removed. LOL
I was scared to death she was going to run our country someday! Since when are being 'cute' and 'perky' qualifications for running a country?
And dumb? I don't know, I've never actually spoken to the crazy woman, but I can't say she's the brightest bulb in the pack either.
I think this is the thread that got me banned, leaving it alone now.
Chris Matthews--"Nothing is more frightening than an empty vessel in power." [Referring to her near complete ignorance of 20th century world and U.S. history and her remark speculating about the likely positive result of a decision by Obama to attack Iran.]

There are a "few" posts in the forums indicating the posters' firm beliefs that Sarah Palin's book is an effort to (A) make money, (B) settle scores, (C) suck in those of us foolish enough to believe she's a person of substance, (D) blow hot air, and/or a number of other negative...

Why are some people afraid of Sarah Palin?? For sure she doesn't flow with the media and is definitly going upstream. Could be that some folks are concerned because she has the gonads to speak truth and the far left are aware that she could create some problems? Lets face it, when...

Ok, so Sarah Palin got paid beaucoup denaro to speak at University of California UC) Stanislaus. God forbid the controversy leading up (protests) and coverage of the speech itself should be "enough" for the media. Oh no! Our local NBC affiliate is looking and sounding more Fox-like every...
