Anyone else following the news on Flynn today?

Especially the part about him being ordered by candidate Trump to make contact with the Russians, as being reported by multiple news outlets.

Read the news about it. Sounds like a good call on Trump's part. Knowing the Russians were heavily involved in Syria, he was attempting to get out in front of it before being sworn ing. All with out the audacity of the made up "office of the President Elect" showmanship of the previous administration. Nothing wrong about that.
The wrong part was lying to the FBI about it. That's a crime. He was rightly fired for it. As far as if he should be prosecuted....that's a different matter. There is precedent for letting high level politicians and administrations members off with nothing more than a shake of the head. Knowingly and willing mishandling classified information and then lying about it comes to mind.

Ooops. You forgot about the part where he discussed lifting sanctions with Kysliak. Big nono. Smells like quid pro qou. Or as we in usa say, collusion.

Sorry Yes Dear, I won't engage you. After reading your comments on other threads, I don't believe you are capable of stringing a pair of cogent thought together on this subject. I believe is has been coined "Trump Derangement Syndrome."

Still defending him?? Talk about derangement. ABC just announced Flynn will testify that Trump directed him to reach out to Russians DURING campaign. This is an infamous day in history....and u on the wrong side. Imo

      Obama is your shining light?
If Obama didn't escalate the relation between the US and Russia we could have had an Allie instead of an adversary. And what is it when the FBI lies to US?

Greg - Would you agree this country was in a horrible spot economically when Obama took over as president?

Now, I would say Trump is very pro-economy, mostly because that helps him.

Obama kept the balance between protect the Earth and see growth.

Trump is pro corporate. That is deathknell for the economy. He's pro profit at the expense of people.

My first reaction is stunned.  Not that Flynn was charged with lying to the FBI, but that Hillary never was charged.  I want to know what is the standard for lying the FBI has placed on Hillary and if it is different from the standard placed on everyone else.  Watch Comey's testimony about all the lies Hillary Clinton told.  Where are the standards?  Shouldn't they be applied equally?

      Mike
Comey and the FBI never put Hillary under oath. What kind of an investigation is that. The Flynn thing is old, and there is nothing new. How about circling the wagons and agreeing on a budget.

    Treason’s greetings.!

According to court documents, Flynn lied to investigators when he told them he did not lobby Kislyak on a United Nations Security Council vote condemning Israeli settlements.

Incoming angry tweets to follow. ... The kind that are self incriminating!

    Making Arraignments Great Again!!!

If anyone thinks that Mueller and a federal judge doesn't make sure that the warrants they seek are bulletproof is delusional. Mueller is making sure anything presented is flawless legally.

The collusion (violating the Logan Act, campaign convos and help) supports and explains the obstruction charges. It's gonna come down to obstruction.

He also told them he spoke about sanctions.....Trump hasn't acted on them yet, huh? Trump goofed by telling classified Israeli secrets to Lavrov. This world is nuts!! Good guys v bad guys everywhere you look! Religion and nationality not important.

    Yes following it closely.
People are starting to plead guilty to try to stay out of jail and Donaldites are still saying it's all good.
Good republicans are trying to uproot the total corruption and entrenched Russian influence in U.S. politics and Donaldites are still saying it's fake news.
Britain is about to ban Donald from entering the country but the Donaldites are saying it's good to curry favour with kkk and Nazis.
As the curtain is closing on the Russian scandal Donald is ready to hit the nuclear button so he can install martial law and dictatorial power at the expense of people's lives.
But of course the Donaldites say it's all for the best because corporate America will benefit financially and save us all. Ha.

Anyone in America earning under $75,000 is screwed. If they get rid of individual mandate, people WILL die. And we have alt righters  flooding the judiciary. It's ugly.

I think everything we need to know about Flynn, and the whole Russian conspiracy has been played out ad nauseam.

Trump's opposition definitely got the drop on him when he first got to D.C., this should have been expected by Trump and his staff as they ran a campaign to "drain the swamp" and were definitely the "outsiders".

It was clear the Democrats had a plan, they stayed relatively on point and on attack those first few months, they had planned plenty of traps and set-up people like Flynn so they could then take them down once Trump was in office... that Trump survived efforts to derail his administration... perhaps even with the hopes to impeach him on false charges, is a testament to Trump's determination and blunt sense of self.

It also shows how ineffectual today's media is at driving the narrative, or convincing the public of what the facts (or truth) are in regards to anything, least of all politics.  I think it is safe to say far more Americans distrust the MSM that trust it.

As for this particular Flynn episode, much ado about nothing covers it, this young gentlemen (below) has a  good take on it, and I dare say with more than 200,000 followers, probably has more impact on what Americans think about things than CNN or their like does today.

Drain Americans, and fill it with Russians. It is a big something when you are promising to use the US gvt as a private equity firm. "Hey Vlad--we'll use the USA for you if you help us get it" UN believable that anyone would pooh-pooh this. Incredible
