In an unhinged rant, Congresswoman Maxine Waters urged supporters to harass and protest any member of the Trump team they see in public. She is obsessed with seeing the President impeached and will use any means possible to stir up trouble. She feels this is justified because "God is on our side," referring to her political party. She's trying to use the false narrative of Trump hurting children on the border to gin up support (how many children does Planned Parenthood kill annually?)
The nation is at a tipping point when elected members of government are telling voters to harass other citizens - how soon until someone get seriously hurt, or worse?
Do you believe "God" supports one party over the other? Or does "God" stay out of politics?
Religious people often, if not always, believe God is on their side. Of course, they can't all be right. Evangelicals say Trump was sent by God to save us. Sessions and Sanders both invoked the Bible to justify their family separation policy. Maxine Waters is just as nutty as they are to believe God supports harassing people in public.
Maybe there's more than one God out there....
The fastest growing group is non- believers maybe some day they can push out the 99% Jewish/Christians congress, or....... Maybe not.
not exactly true - the fastest growing religion over the last few years was Islam, but now its Paganism, I believe (people who are returning to the old religious and ritual practices of their ancestors (pre-Christianity))
Survey done by National Geography says atheist is the fastest going Religion in the world.
Most people tell me they Spiritual rather than Religious. Just add paganism to your long list of non believers in God.
Other non believers in God it much greater. A religion can be a system of rules, obligations or advice…or philosophy
Buddhists don't believe in God. Others
To names a few
With Obama's Signature, U.S. Religious Freedom Law Protects Atheists
Yet saying atheist is a Religion is a crock to me.
déc. 2016 · Atheists will now be protected under US law as part of new legislation promoting religious ...it legal now.
Still a nonbeliever has about One in 1000 chance of joining Congress.
Would you call your US government bigoted in this case. Both Religion and Politics is just fairytales to me.
Or maybe it is --It takes far more faith and belief than religion does , Faith grows in strange places , maybe they are a religion in the making ?....................;-]
Or (more likely) God doesn't give a hoot about American politics.
To say that all evangelicals believe what you state is incorrect. Some who at least claim to be evangelical are indeed vocal about that belief/hope, but they certainly do not speak for all. To say they do is to stereotype people.
As well, thankfully, anyone stating that all liberals stand with this Maxine Waters' position that it is open season on conservatives is also stereotyping people. In this case, though, it is a call to commit the felony of stalking people and worse, which is unwise for her and her followers, and unsafe for those these people attack.
The bias involved in stereotyping is problematic for the person doing it, their cause, and for those who are being stereotyped. It is a waste of time and energy, foolishness at its best, dangerous more often then we think. Productive ways of communicating take more work and require a willingness to demand objectivity of ourselves no matter how we feel.
Yet , the many many Maxine Waters of the left roll on unhindered by their constituencies , How passive as the silent masses of the left sit on the sidelines as their leaders call for even civil obstruction , yes violence and destruction in front of microphones ?
How honorable , You say..." not all stand with Maxine Waters ......."?
No, but you sure do ALL stand rather silently for such a vocal bunch .
Mark my words about this , when the left finally gets violent , the right righteously responds in defense , That will be the fault of the right .
Democrats may find themselves put out on their ear and grappling with how to reclaim their relevance. I read that a powerful Democrat was unseated in a surprise win by a dark horse socialist. This news may be a harbinger of things to come. Play with fire you eventually get burned.
Yes , NY Senator replaced by an avowed ,young female American Socialist / Democratic party candidate . Let's hope they are all replaced by something different .
You really would rather see a Socialist in office than a Democrat? Then you ain't seen nuthin' yet. People are getting disgusted with Democrats (I for one) because they are becoming too socialistic.
NO ! I don't want socialists in our government , not now , not ever . Read the thread , anybody that knows me knows how I feel about socialism .
Just fall off the turnip truck or something ?
No, I did not fall off a turnip truck. I am a legal editor and according to your sentence structure, that is what you said. I didn't think you realized what you wrote. Your sentence "Let's hope they are all replaced by something different." is ambiguous because "all" may or may not include the socialist/democrat who replaced the democrat. It is up to the writer to make himself clear, not the reader to guess at the meaning or to read a whole thread to make an educated guess.
I think the young lady and her success is good news, more of the Bernie Sanders style over the Hillary C. I welcome a fresh face and bold approach against an ever increasing and encroaching right wing machine. The true Progressive is nothing like them and I don't want my candidates carrying any their stench as my choice next fall.
I don't live in New York, but she and others like her have my complete support
God and the forces of good certainly aren't on the side of Trump's evil darkness, nor are they on the side of his republican cult accomplices in congress: Trump's evil was given the key to power while we slept, and now it will be a monumental struggle to defeat it but in the end, good always triumphs over darkness:
Coming from the perpetrator of dark half truths here on this site, I'm actually impressed you admit that.
God and the forces of good triumphed with the defeat of Hillary Clinton: Trump was ELECTED by voters to fix the mistakes of the Obama "fiasco years" There was no midnight conspiracy to secretly transfer power over to Trump. Save the sensationalism and try to express yourself as if you were talking to adults. This is Hubpages, not Propaganda Pages
Actually, that's not true RJ, and now the church, vessels of God, are obstructing and blocking the forces of darkness like Mr. Trump and Sessions for their evil acts of atrocity: It's nothing less than insane that they are still allowed to pollute our white house:
The forces of good will ultimately triumph over this ultra corrupt, wicked and false administration and it will happen with a great crescendo: God is watching and God will lay his heavy hand down soon:
"600 United Methodists file church complaint against Jeff Sessions"
"RNS) — More than 600 United Methodist clergy and laypeople have signed a formal denominational complaint against fellow United Methodist Attorney General Jeff Sessions, condemning his role in the Trump administration’s “zero-tolerance” policy of separating children from their parents along the U.S.-Mexico border. The charges include child abuse, immorality, racial discrimination and “dissemination of doctrines contrary to the standards of doctrine of the United Methodist Church.”
I just posted on your other thread - you know, the one where you used a parody website as your source - and your laughable main argument stating Trump was excommunicated from the Presbyterian church - and what's even funnier, you supported those lies with more of your own lies.....talk about a propagandist (Joseph Goebbels would be proud of you Jake - he's likely offer you a job)
How about you provide us with proof of your understanding of the thoughts and plans of a Divine being Jake - you don't know squat about religion just like the many other topics you spew about. And just to be clear - the Church you are supporting with such fervor - is being exposed daily for their lies and internal corruption.
I think the Zero-Tolerance policy doesn't go far enough - I'd close the border if it were me - ICE would be elevated to the same level as the National Guard and given the mission to capture, detain, and deport anyone without proof of citizenship or legal entry into the country.
How many leaders in the Democrat party have come out against what Maxine Waters has said? NONE. I guess this tells you all you need to know about the Democrat party.
Watch some real news sources, Mike. Nancy Pelosi has already addressed this hours ago. I guess this tells you something about the Republican Party?
Randy, again, This is what Nancy Pelosi did
"House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi wrote online Monday that elections should be conducted in a way that "achieves unity" despite President Donald Trump's "lack of civility," in what appeared to be a gentle rebuke of Rep. Maxine Waters’ call for Trump opponents to confront members of the administration wherever they may be.
“In the crucial months ahead, we must strive to make America beautiful again. Trump’s daily lack of civility has provoked responses that are predictable but unacceptable,” Pelosi (D-Calif.) wrote on Twitter. “As we go forward, we must conduct elections in a way that achieves unity from sea to shining sea.”

"appeared to be a gentle rebuke?" This is no rebuke of anything. If she really didn't like what Maxine Waters said she would have mentioned her name and distanced herself from what was said. This is nothing more than cowardly response with a hope that someone takes it the right way. This is a pathetic response. Now, I guess THIS tells you something about the Democrat party leadership.
Fox News @FoxNews
On the Senate floor Monday, @SenSchumer rebuked @RepMaxineWaters' comments calling for people to confront members of the Trump administration anywhere they're seen in public.
Where in this statement is Maxine Waters mentioned and what she said cited? This is a very cowardly response.
Chuck , Maxine , two people who personify the lowest form of cowardice in all of humanity . Look at their faces in the state of the union speech by Trump , .................tells me all I need to know about political cowardice .
Now morphing into violence ? What hero's .
This is a prime example of the 'tolerance' of the left. 'Do as you will. We won't condemn you, personally. If you meet the criteria. If you toe the line. You don't have to think or act responsibly. Because you are one of us,' And, they won't take responsibility. They haven't yet. For every act of intolerance, for every act of violence. But,let some guy they can super glue to the right consider anything and they are up in arms at the right, because someone might have had a thoughtthey didn't like and it might, possibly, if given the opportunity, incite violence. Liberal, juvenile. The words are becoming synonymous. It's the Facebook mob party.
Pope said Trump is not a Christian, who knows better than him.
So Trump is out. Thank doG! The Nazis had : God is with US: on their belt buckles.
So we're supposed to believe the Pedo-In-Chief ? The Catholic Church is pretty far removed from being the moral compass for anyone with more than a third grade education.
Nature is my Religion, that make Trump out ten folded. My life is based on good sense, when any individual make good sense like pope Francis it can be incorporated into my circle. He explains Christians make roads and bridges, not walls. He expressed more pro ethical things, less con morals.
God only being with Democrats is Dangerous.
Vice President Mike Pence wants evey public school to teach Creatiism. He says Planet of the Apes and Gravity is just a theory.
Can you push a politician off a cliff to test a theory of Gravity?
Well, the jury is still out on gravity but Planet of the Apes just a theory???? That's just heresy.
Castlepaloma, I think that would be illegal, but sometimes I'd like to.
Sheep follow sheep.
A true story about one lead sheep fall off a cliff and 1500 sheep follow him. About 470 died and the rest were injured. After the first 500 it built its own giant bed mattress to save the rest.
My counting sheep to sleep, might turn into nightmares now.
I’ll go with option C which is “God” doesn’t exist and people just use the concept as an excuse to assert their opinions as though they’re backed by some higher authority.
I too have little faith in decisions made by those who base their arguments on an invisible entity who cannot speak for itself. If I claimed the Flying spaghetti Monster informed me what to believe, I would get the same reaction from the Xtians

Is it only those you disagree with that you have little faith in when they bring God into their rational?
If the Flying Spaghetti Monster does say something then I want to know
I can't stand all these layers and layers of authorities and hidden laws. They get in the way of my ethics all the time.
It is my personal belief that God neither cares nor does God get involved earth's politics, and that includes the U.S's two major political parties. I believe that our heavens are so layered that the creator is isolated so far above his/her lower creations, like human beings, that he/she leaves all that to his/her lieutenants (you know, angels, archangels, saints, other spirits, etc.) However, since human earth habitants were given freewill, and even the Christian bible says that, none of them are going to interfere. Like in Star Trek there is a policy of nonintervention in effect. I believe it is being left up to us to work out our own destiny, and we are the ones in power. We are the good and we are the evil who are fighting this battle on the earth's plane. I think all prayers for intervention in politics, sports events, and the 4th of July are totally fruitless.
I fear you will not get a lot of agreement from mainstream Christianity. Some, but not a whole lot.

A serious question, posed more to those who identify as Democrats. I would really like to know who you believe will come forth with a message of unification, prosperity, and a positive outlook toward the future... someone mainstream Americans could believe in.

What do you think of the so-called revelation that Jeff Session met with the Russians and then lied to Congress about it?This is obviously more fake news from the left-wing media.

This latest spat with Congressman John Lewis is another example of how Trump always comes off as a hot head with poor judgement, just what we need in the modern world.Yes, Lewis 'started it' with his statement about the President-Elect's legitimacy. Many of us of the enlightened left have pondered...
