Well what do you guys think? Was the nomination deserved? Or not? Please discuss, and here's a link to know more. Ciao.

Since I think the Nobel Peace Prize has become less meaningful than it was or was intended to be, it is an easy choice for me.
No, BLM does not deserve the nomination. Nor did Pres. Trump or Pres. Obama, (even worse that Pres. Obama won it), in my opinion.
The generally accepted understanding of what BLM stands for—a push to force an understanding of racial inequities is worthy, but it is belied by the actual charter of the BLM organization, the words of its leaders, and the reality of its on-the-ground efforts.
I am of the opinion that only Liberal-thinkers view BLM's efforts as peaceful protests. It is predictable that Conservative-thinking folks have a different view, associating the violence and looting with those same protests. I think the swing-vote is the segment of Independent and Moderate-thinkers that also associate BLM's efforts with violence and looting.
Maybe other posters will offer a different view.

Not this one; any organization that foments violent riots and has lies as the basis of it's being does not deserve to be even mentioned in the same sentence as a Nobel Peace Prize.
NO, they should not get a Nobel Prize, in my view, they have not come up to the standard to meet any of the five categories that the Noble prizes are awarded for.
There are five separate prizes that, according to Alfred Nobel's awarded to those who, during the preceding year, have conferred the greatest benefit to humankind. The five categories --- Literature: Peace Prize: Physics; Chemistry:: Economic Sciences: Physiology or Medicine.
BLM does not qualify or excel in any of the given categories. Over the past years, it is more than apparent the Nobel Committee has gone off the rails... And at this point, the standards "Alfred Nobel" held up have been ignored.
I don't like the idea of the Nobel Peace Prize being politicized. While I support BLM in principle and not caring for the fomenting of violence, I see the Nobel Prize as being awarded under higher standards of eligibility.
Absolutely not, peace and BLM cannot co-exist (to quote a popular bumper sticker) therefore, BLM is not worthy.
However, if we are being asked to judge by today’s lackluster standards, then okay, why not!
"not caring for the fomenting of violence,"
p e a c e prize?
Let us (further) diminish a perfectly fine prize by giving it to such an organization which actually is one which divides and stirs up strife in more ways than one..
Peace, my foot.
Isn't your comment pretty much what I have said?
I elaborated, don't ya think?
um did we just agree on something??????
Yes, anything is possible, as Jupiter aligns with Mars, it is the Age of Aquarius.

Led by an overwhelming majority of American citizens, with predominantly New Yorkers on the front lines, picketers in front of the White House succeeded in making Mr. Obama vow to return his erroneously-gotten Prize. He said now he understands that it ain't okay to cause chaos WITHIN America...

The greatest threat to mankind is Nuclear war and the lack of protection for our natural environment.I'm happier to see Al Core get a Nobel peace prize, than to watch Obama get one for raising the war budget to the highest level ever. What do you think?
