What will the United States be like in 50 years?

I think this at this time is hard to say or predict.  I look at our society as very fickled in regard to changing our minds frequently, especially in regard to one's loyalties, interests, or what we have affection for.

I mean do you think  50 years ago we would have ever voted a non-politician into the office of president or a gay man or woman into any part of the government?   We found the very scandal of a divorced representative unacceptable.

Right now we have a country divided as we have only witnessed maybe once in our history. So, how could one predict where we will all land even after the next election?

I think of Americans as strange birds, even though we differ, in our own strange beliefs, we are still one of a strange bird flock... we end up flying together when the time comes to choose who we will fly with.

So, we move along a path, of adopting some changes and rebuking some changes. But we do not stay stagnant. So, in 50 years we may decide we have become a successful experiment, or maybe that we have fu------- up pretty bad.

I think it is safe to say that serious changes will have been put into practice by law in order to save the planet as a place for humans to live.

College will be free or tax deductible because we will have learned the country declines severely when only the rich can afford a higher education.

Guns will be extremely limited because we will have finally tired of seeing our children killed.

People will return to their faiths because they will have learned how desolate life can be without it. But they will have shed their judgements and embraced love as God teaches it.

There will be multiple competitive political parties because we will have learned the hard way not to allow two monopiles controlling our government.

All my books will have finally been appreciated, and my greatgrandchildren will be rich!
