   In my view, Biden's move to have a Jan 6th commemoration will worsen our divide in America in many respects. I might add,  his decision will be looked upon as not only divisive but blatantly political.
   
   (Reuters) - U.S. President Joe Biden plans to commemorate the second anniversary of the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol with a White House ceremony, according to a schedule released by his office on Monday.  Biden's schedule said Friday's ceremony would take place in the White House's East Room. No further details were provided.
   
   This Thread is about the above paragraph. We here at HP have beaten the Jan 6th riot to a slow death   So, hopefully, we are not directed at the Jan 6th riot. This is not about Trump, It's about Biden's decision to commemorate the riot that occurred on Jan 6th.
   
   Simply, do you feel the Jan 6th riot needs to be commemorated?  Hopefully, you will share thoughts on why or why not.

         +10000000000000000,  Biden had better be thinking about how to repair the worsening economy.    To reiterate, the inflation rate is at an all time high.   Biden should be thinking about how to repair the borders as illegals are coming to this country & as a result, social support systems are being drained.    Biden clearly isn't presidential material.   A smart 10 year old could do a better job than Biden.

            The realm of reality is that there have been uprisings and riots in the US since the Whiskey Rebellion of the 1790s. In well over 2 centuries they remain without number.
            
            My view seems crystal clear enough for me.
            
            If there were more this rabble on the scene and if they could have actually found the legislators they were railing about, who knows what might have happened.
            
            Our National Capitol was attacked by a mob, for the first time in over 2 centuries, that in itself gives it a prominent place in the history books.

               At least, it is meant to be, in America.
               
               What was attacked were the corrupt criminals that enrich themselves at the expense of the people.  The current protectors of the dysfunctional, criminal, political body of Congress and the government Agencies that they should oversea and control (but don't).
               
               Things that are being revealed as true, from the Twitter files Musk had released.  Any person who is a critical thinker would have concluded this long before such expose.

         Will we remember the Portland riots?  CHAZ, in Seattle?  Those in Minneapolis and many other cities?
         
         No, they will be forgotten.  The one, months long, in Portland has already been set aside as Portlanders (that I've talked to anyway) pretend there is nothing wrong, that the direct results still apparent today never happened.
         
         Why then commemorate, or remember, a tiny, hours long riot in DC?  Because it scared the rich and powerful?  I don't think so - it's long past time that those riots came home to roost in their neighborhood.

            Wilderness, as I told Ken, we have had riots in this country since its founding, nothing new there.
            
            We commemorate January 6th because of ominous significance associated with attacking the national Capitol, the rule of law and Constitutional prescription as to how to identify the winners, rather than give in to the whiners. The significance of the attack is far greater and as such will not be forgotten and will always serve as a warning to the general public of the temerity of extremists and their fundamental hatred of the democratic process. So, the Right can spin this like a top, but I know better.

            The motives for most of the rioters were to support the lying claims of "Agent Orange" that the election was rigged just because he lost. There is nothing aspirational about it, it was just dumb. Basically, saying that our man wins because we say so, regardless of his election loss.

            Marvin Francois, 50, was shot and killed May 31 after a protest in Kansas City, Mo., according to reports.
            
            Police said his killers were three carjackers trying to steal his car, Fox 4 KC reported.
            
            AND these deaths occurred all before June 8th... Need I list many more that occurred during the Summer Of Love?
            
            I would think this type of riot should be long remembered for the destruction, violence, and law-hate enforcement officers were made to endure. 
            
            More so than a couple of hundred protesters that rioted for a couple of hours at the Capitol. Congress was able to reconvene by 7 pm to resume their work. The building was safe to do business for the people.
            
            We had ONE  FACTUAL DEATH at the capitol, that of one woman, a veteran by the name of Ashli Babbitt. She was shot by an officer while claiming through a window. She was unarmed. She was white, the officer black. Did you hear any cry of racism from the media or the general public? I did not.
            
            Here are what the media is calling related deaths, none of which can factually be proved to be caused due to the Jan 6th riot.

They can start with Harris and then work down the list of the Nazi Democrats . Charge them all under 18 USC Ch.115 §2383 and §2384. Also charge the Mayors of Seattle, Portland and D.C.

At one point, Jamie Raskin could not be present due to cancer. While it is true Raskin did announce he has a form of cancer, he is still at work.          Not sure if this statement can be looked at as truthful, he was artwork and gave the media the idea that he would work through his treatment if all went well.
         
         My career has nothing to do with what I stated. What I observed worked to provide information in regard to Raskin's ability to continue working, and I was unaware he put out a statement on why he could not attend the Jan 6th ceremony. The bottom line he was at work, and he could have appeared at the ceremony, his health was not a factor this past week. He spent endless hours at work and did not miss a vote.
         
         I can also share, I may be biased in regard to Raskin. I find he lies frequently to suit his own purpose.  His history preseeds him. I have a poor view of this man.

               I have never tried to hide my partisan affiliation with the Republican party. I am a strong supporter of the party.  So, shocked it took you so long to recognize that.  I think you may be the only one on this forum that may have not recognized that I am partisan.  I mean I have called the Democratic party slimy and pointed out every problem I come across about the Democratic party.  So, I  guess we agree on me being partisan.
               
               I am in no respect going to discuss cancer treatments or anything that pertains to cancer with you. Period   So, although I have sympathy for your  "My sister story"...  You are diverting.   
               
               The fact is, and my point is Rakin was at work all WEEK and could have made his way to the White House for that Commemoration.

                     I think most will see the context of the conversation. And Hopefully, realize I admitted to being partisan in regard to the Republican political party. .  This party represents my values, as well as my ideologies.  So, will I ever claim to be an unbiased person when it comes to political parties?   No, that just would not be my truth.
                     
                     In regard to Raskin being at work present on the House floor, I offered a link that shows his recorded vote. You may have missed it. Congresspersons were required to be present to vote. I would not just assume he was there when commenting.  Hey, In my view Raskin should be more truthful, maybe not say in one breath can't be there due to illness constraints, yet end up a couple of blocks away working.

   You certainly limited the discussion. OK. Do I feel the Jan 6th riot needs to be commemorated? Since we remember The Alamo, Pearl Harbor, and 9/11 then we need to remember one of the four darkest days in American history.
   
   And while we are at it, I think we need to take notice of the fact that every single Democrat member of the US House attended a moment of silence for those who lost their lives on Jan. 6th. Do you know how many Republican members attended? 1
