I'm no expert but I think it was very good. An excellent bow out while inspiring hope in those that supported her.

It was an inspiring speech, her words were uplifting for her supporters. I think she has taken the high road, and give her great credit for being gracious.

It was a great way to start the mending and readying for the next chapter four years from now...

Its really what the country needs... accept the election results, move on, and plan for 2028... come out with someone that you aren't dragging out of the basement and doesn't belong being the front person of your party.

They need to clean out the Clintons, Bidens, and all the old cronies that are stuck in a bygone era holding grudges... like Waters, Pelosi and the like.

The country needs new blood... not a cabal of 80 year olds clinging to power.

I hope they move in a new direction... they had the chance... with Tulsi Gabbard, RFK Jr. and others... instead they forced them out of the party... giving us Biden... and then at the last minute Harris, who was not able to develop a real rapport with Americans...

It is possible she could have, her appearance on SNL and this concession speech shows a side of her that is more relatable... and believable.

But the country didn't get to see that in time for it to stick with enough Americans.

There is also the very real aspect that they attacked Trump so much, using such dirty tactics, that it backfired on them... it got more people to support Trump than it did turn people away from him.

I agree with you. Trump is a solid starting point for mending the country and preparing for the future. More Americans are waking up to how off track we've gone, and it’s obvious that leadership needs to change. I don't think the "old guard" will have much of a voice after what we've witnessed from Biden. The country needs to start demanding better representatives, like Tulsi Gabbard or RFK Jr. This election has shown us one clear thing: we can trust the majority of Americans to see through to common sense.

Do you feel positive about someone like RFK Jr being in charge of health?  I mean considering his penchant for conspiracy theory.

And this is the kind of person you passed on.

This is how America has always worked in the past until
2016, which was a fluke . .. . and still God sent us a Pandemic.

This time, it is on purpose . . .

        1. Ken Burgess profile image72
Ken Burgessposted 8 months agoin reply to this

You have to pass on her if you are sane...

The people behind her gave us WWIII...

          Gave us 25% inflation...

Gave us over 10 million migrants dumped into unsuspecting towns...

Gave us men competing against women in sports...

Gave us child mutilation and tried to make it so parents couldn't protect their children from people who would prey on them to make such choices.

          I could go on...

Trump never gave us any of that during his 4 years... if not for the Pandemic it would have been the best 4 year run America had since the early 00s...  and you could argue the late 80s...

          Who was on her team?

On Trump's team we had Elon Musk, Tulsi Gabbard, RFK Jr., etc.

It may not matter... the Biden Administration still has a couple months to make the wars we are involved in MUCH worse than they already are... we will be lucky to get to a change of leadership and de-escalation of the wars spreading across multiple continents.

I passed on her for many reasons. That is water under the bridge.  Democracy has won the day. I would not feel I could question the great majority. He won by popular vote of over 7 million. Some in 2016 felt the popular vote was very important.

My first thought, only seconds in, was that she had better be careful.  When Trump used that terrible word (Fight!) he was accused of planning, instigating and aiding an insurrection in an attempt to overthrow the United States.  Will they find twenty different things to charge Harris with (she must have uttered that terrible blasphemy 20 times)?  Stay tuned...

The second thing that caught my attention was a complete and total lack of any semblance of "work together".  She won't do it, her team won't do it and she doesn't want any Democrat to do it.  Instead they are to roll up their sleeves and "Fight!".  Do not compromise, do not work to find a common solution, do not attempt to heal the rift in the country.  Just "Fight!" to get what is desired, has been desired and will be desired until they get it.

So, for me, it was both hypocritical and sad.  Just more of the same, that Democrats really began piling on in 2017.

I did not see anything about letting anything go for 4 years.  Instead what I heard was "Fight to make the changes you want, and do it NOW!"

I did see that you pointed out. I pretty much felt she was making every attempt to let her supporters down in an easy fashion. I hope the change of power goes smoothly. Biden gave a nice speech this morning. He was unifying, and gracious, and yet gave his supporters hope to further their goals. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2fU-A4gO4G4

So what is wrong with that, she didn’t break the law. It goes without saying that the fight goes on.

Did not your side “keep on fighting” during the Biden Administration? Why should we now fold up like lawn chairs? No chance.

          1. wilderness profile image75
wildernessposted 8 months agoin reply to this

Of course she didn't break the law.  Neither did she make any attempt to heal the massive divide we have, nor did she indicate any attempt to do so in the future.

Just more of the same.  "Never say quit, never accept less than the full amount wanted, never compromise, never work with the enemy for the good of the country."  That's the message she gave - while you may cheer and think it great I find it pitiful that someone that full of hate and disregard for our needs almost became President.

Credence2posted 8 months agoin reply to this

In this current political climate, that divide is not going away, Wilderness. So, the Right will not be allowed to rest on it laurels.

The “never say quit” attitude comes from either side, so just don’t blame Harris as if she invented it.

I don’t recall Donald Trump making any gracious concession speech once he lost in 2020, so why the double standard?

I think it great that you watch every move and work to hold the Trump Administration accountable...

Not the same as going out and stirring up violence and riots... as someone like AOC suggests...

But if that is the course that is taken... it will cost your side much in the way of support and empathy.

Where is the link in regards to AOC, would you provide it please and don’t give me Fox or brietbart?

the resulting strife that comes with his election will not leave the President elect smelling like a rose but leave him with an ineffectual image. A great way to start. You can count on that as well.

I definitely heard that from AOC and MSNBC...

The threats of violence are now clearly emanating from the Progressive Left.

If they continue to push in this direction, doubling down, again, they will move further into the minority... with less support from Middle America than they have now.

I fully expect to see that.  When wrong, double down and make it worse - that seems to be the SOP from the left.

The fact is, we who voted for DJT trust him due to his past policies and actions in office. Let's leave it at that for now and wait. He's not even in office yet.
I really would give it a rest.
Let's not get all worked up over absolutely nothing.
    ... like a Chicken Little.

Furthermore, Trump is not a magician or a sorcerer.
Maybe some people want lightening speed results. They are probably the ones who spend many an hour playing stimulating computer games where actions are instantaneous and controllable.

They really should get out and ride a bike to some destination or climb some mountains. Things in real life take time and effort. One must roll with reality. Its not instantaneous and its not predictable.

The real issue is the fact that Kamala is Marxist in her policies. Trump is not. In my mind, the difference in their political ideologies is the only topic worth discussing right now. Socialism is very attractive. However, exploring why it doesn't work would be interesting and educational.
