American Citizens Are Victimizing the Obama Administration

    Happy anniversary everyone!

Yes, it's been exactly one year since the president announced that the police "acted stupidly" despite the fact that he didn't have all the facts on the arrest of his buddy in Cambridge. We're seeing that same style of decision-making coming from the White House to this day, most recently in the form of the Shirley Sherrod fiasco.

It's one of the defining characteristics of this administration: When race is involved, act quickly, act erratically, act before you have the facts and then call the other side racist when it becomes obvious you've screwed up.

Remember: In liberation theology there is either the oppressor or the oppressed.

Now, this is where it gets tricky: The people who are in charge and are fundamentally transforming everything against your will? They are the oppressed.

You are the oppressor. The president must play the oppressed card every time. Everyone in his administration are victims; you are victimizing them. And you, me and everyone else, victimized Shirley Sherrod... even though they were the ones who fired her.

Now, that's a tough case to make, but I that's why the president gets the big bucks.

Why can't Beck just stop screaming and crying and just pay his taxes like the rest of us.  That's what his long speech boils down to, a man that doesn't want to pay his fair share of the taxes he owes. We all have to pay for the privilage of living in the greatest Country in the world.

This is a boneheaded post. For one thing, the administration admitted the mistake. For another, Faux News set this up with a sound bite that had nothing to do with the whole speech.

I may be dumb but I am not stupid, Ann.

So making decisions before becoming aware of the facts, is that what you look for in your leadership?

The same could be said of just about any political leader. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.

It's a human trait, you don't have to like it, but nobody is perfect.

Actually I think Fox was set up. Because Sherrod was fired before the big shows came on Fox. I was watching CNN and Sherrod said that the White House wanted her to resign because the sound byte was gonna show up on Glenn Beck on the 19th. And Beck never said a word. Obama is reacting to Fox before Fox even airs their program.  Who is supposedly the President here ?

Yes, but not before Fox News ran it on their website.  It was then officially a news story.

Besides, what difference does it make that she resigned minutes before O'Reilly and the rest of the Fox "entertainers" went on the air? The point is, shoddy journalism instigated the sorry chain of events in the first place.

Shepard Smith, one of Fox News' "real" reporters was mightily upset with his employer.

    Obama = FAIL

At this point you would have to be a complete idiot to believe anything he says... a complete idiot.

    Obama is destroying America.

    Case in Point:

"WASHINGTON – The Treasury Department's pay czar said Friday that 17 banks gave their top executives $1.6 billion in lavish payments while they were receiving billions of dollars in taxpayer-funded bailouts.

Kenneth Feinberg said he did not have the authority to ask the firms to repay the money that was handed out during the financial crisis. But he said they should develop new rules on compensation that would allow them to slash compensation payments in future crises."

Gee this isn't Obama's fault... blame this on George Bush.  Don't even consider the FACT that Obama did everything he could to make sure they Bankers got their Money!  Obama was practically bragging about all the phone calls he made to make sure this Tax Payer giveaway happened.

And just this week more Unemployment Benefits passed that are NOT paid for... another blank check.  The money to fund the Bill was available... but he refused to do it.

Obama is just writing blank checks, and destroying American Business.

Financial Reform as created by Dodd, Frank, and Obama... is going to push more American Jobs oversees and do nothing to prevent the same payoffs to the Wealthy from happening again.

The end of this year the Bush Tax Cuts for the rich expire. How do you feel about that blank check coming to an end?  That can help pay for the thousands of people thrown out of work by the financial crisis.  I'm no financial wizard, but I think keeping the workforce alive and eating is a blank check that should have been written. But, of course some would prefer they get out and work for slave wages,(which is the end game for businesses in the first place)but, thankfully, rich crooks don't rule this Country yet.

I don't know if this will make any difference to you, bgamall, but here is the timeline of events.

    March 27 Sherrod gives speech.

Early April Breitbart first contacted about speech.  Probably given edited version.

July 19 8:30 am Breitbart posts video clip in response to NAACP comments on tea party members.

July 19 Sherrod gets three phone calls on her way home from work telling her that the White House is demanding her resignation.  She is told to pull off the road and come back to resign immediately because she was going to be on Glenn Beck tonight.

July 19 8:49 Fox News, not the Glenn Beck Show, but the Bill O'Reilly show runs the video clip.

Glenn Beck has never run it and he asked for the entire speech when he saw the clip.   The first thing he said about it on the air was in defense of Sherrod.

Sherrod was forced to resign because the clip was out and the Obama administration jumped to the conclusion that it was accurate and that Fox News would run with it.

I was watching Fox News after the whole story emerged about the Sherrod videotape being edited to make it appear she was racist.  You gotta hand it to them, they know how to spin a story.  They immediately deflected blame from Breitbart (who released the edited video) and themselves (who reported it without fact-checking) by focusing on the too-quick firing of Sherrod.  Errors were made all the way around, but the most egregious one by far was the intentional smearing of Shirley Sherrod by a right-wing blogger aided and abetted by a biased and lazy news media, led by Fox News.  Any other part of this story pales in comparison to that initial dishonest and hateful act.

Remember how Dan Rather lost his job for sloppy reporting and Fox News was leading the charge for his dismissal?  Why aren't heads swinging at Fox News?

I agree with you, mostly.  They do have a few legitimate reporters who occasionally report something their bosses don't like, but they're drowned out by the Crazy Clowns that like to pretend they're imparting legitimate knowledge until they're called out for their inflammatory antics, then they're just "entertainers."

Those facts would be the White House forced her to resign.... then Bill O'Rielly talked about it on his show for 30 secs.

Another fact is Beck didn't talk about it on his show that day.

Not till 36 or more hours after she had been forced by Oby to resign did he even mention it.

And he said Oby should not be forcing her to resign with just a clip that didn't hold the full context of the speech.

Which even when listened to fully, does not show any great redemption from her racism.

I think she still is a racist... now she is Marxist also, though.

    Just my opinion.

But it is funny now how she is a hero to the Leant Leftists for having been what?... transformed from a racxist to a Marxist.

    Okay...

So all the leftist lies about Fox spining anything, is BS...

I expect nothing less from the Leant Leftist Liberal Progressive Socialist Democrats.

The facts are this was a bomb tossed at beck and he didn't grab it.... so the left lies and says Fox did.

36 hours people... and the story was right... she was forced to resign by Obama, for a speech she gave at the NAACP.

    Thats the story.

    Where is that wrong

    1. PrettyPanther profile image84
PrettyPantherposted 7 years ago in reply to this

You are correct that Beck did not discuss Sherrod on his show that day (the day Breitbart posted it on his blog).  However, Fox News, both the news network and the website, provided plenty of air time for showing the video and discussing Sherrod's racism, all within hours of when the video was posted on the blog.  All of the following appeared the same day the video was released

foxnews.com:  An article was posted discussing the video.  It has since been removed but screen captures are available.

      Fox Nation: Video is posted.

Bill O'Reilly:  Aired the video and O'Reilly stated "That is simply unacceptable. And Ms. Sherrod must resign immediately."

Fox News Alert: Hannity reports that Sherrod has resigned and discusses the incident with Gingrich.  Newt Gingrich stated: "Secretary Vilsack did exactly the right thing. I mean I often disagree with this administration. But firing her after that kind of viciously racist attitude was exactly the right thing to do."

Hannity's Great American Panel discusses Sherrod video.  During the "Great American Panel" segment of Fox News' Hannity, Republican strategist Kate Obenshain stated, "It's just a shame that it takes an expose, it takes Breitbart having to put it on his website, for her resignation to be forced."

Perino discusses Sherrod on Fox's On the Record.  On Fox News' On the Record, guest host Dana Perino reported on Sherrod's resignation and aire Breitbart's video.

Go Fox News!  The best right-wing reporting money can buy.  They sure know how to spread a story!

      Timeline of Breitbart's Sherrod Smear

The story being she was forced to resign by obama for that clip.

That was the story. Right PP?

        So what, they spread it.

        They didn't twist it.

I for one find that video quite revealing in regards to not only Sherrod but the NAACP. Who, not knowing the story, were loving the hate shown the white farmer.

        Very telling indeed .

And at that time 8, 9 and 10 at nite, it was all done and even the NAACP was calling her a racist. So what O'Rielly thought she should be fired.... big deal about whoever thought that on fox.

Everyone who saw it thought that till the NAACP was forced to release the whole tape.

Also, I do not see the tape as a redemption of any of the parties involved.

As I said, Sherrod went from racist to Marxist.

I do not like either one of those ideologies

You said:  "So all the leftist lies about Fox spining anything, is BS..."

TMMasonposted 7 years ago in reply to this

            No they didn't...

They simply reported that sherrod had been forced to resign by Obama and his admin, an assertion made by Sherrod, and that is where the story ended.

No false facts in there at all.

She made the speech... the clips aired on briet-bart and Obama forced her out.

            End of story.

if anything the spin is on the Left PP... you all really think you can blame fox for her resignation and that is just absurd.

            And it isn't working either.

Oh. And the woman is still a racist... only now she embraces her Marxism with even more vigor then her racism. Her own kind, (her words), the NAACP and Obama threw her under the bus.

Well, if you'd actually looked at the videos or read the transcripts of O'Reilly, Hannity, et al, you would know they did a whole lot more than just report her resignation.

Oh and the thing AI am more worried about is the fact that part of the financial reform bill is a little nugget that says the Government can monitor my cash transactions , check me for obesity and also monitor what I am being paid before I even submit my W-2s at the end of the year. And this little gem I got from ABC News

Starting Jan. 1, 2012, Form 1099s will become a means of reporting to the Internal Revenue Service the purchases of all goods and services by small businesses and self-employed people that exceed $600 during a calendar year. Precious metals such as coins and bullion fall into this category and coin dealers have been among those most rankled by the change.

This provision, intended to mine what the IRS deems a vast reservoir of uncollected income tax, was included in the health care legislation ostensibly as a way to pay for it. The tax code tweak is expected to raise $17 billion over the next 10 years, according to the Joint Committee on Taxation

Nice to see all the hope and change comin to fruition ! Unlike Geithner and Charlie Rangel I pay my taxes

The furor over this is more right wing nonsense.

There IS a large underground economy and requiring 1099's will catch some of it.

It is NOT a burden on business.   Even a one person business like mine is computerized and these supposedly burdensome 1099's will be generated automatically.

Smaller businesses seldom buy anything worth $600 anyway, so they will hardly ever have to do one.

The ONLY people this really affects are those lying cheats who do everything in cash and don't keep records.   I like affecting them.

Because you have to act like Fox News, now I have to repeat myself.

I said, even a small, one man business like mine uses computer software to track and generate 1099's.  It's no burden at all other than a very small amount of extra postage and even that goes away if I'm also mailing in a payment.

Businesses even smaller than mine, that are too small to even have a computer, don't buy much in the way of expensive items.

The people who will be affected are the cheats, like the businesses in the Gulf who can't get compensation from BP because they've been doing business off the books - no records, no taxes.
