Wow!  That is beautiful.  I had two sets identical twins as classmates and to be honest its still difficult to tell who is who.

Renee: Is your "twin" as faithful and as sweet as you are? :0)

Yes, apparently there is a dentist in our town that I resemble. I have been asked "How are you Dr. _______ many times."

    Yes!

The year was 1970. Twice that year, while I was working at a church in Los Angeles, members who had been to the church in Sweden called me Johan.

I had been wearing my hair combed straight back and sported a Van Dyke style beard.

One one woman was so insistent that I was Johan, that she struck me for being mean to her, pretending that I wasn't Johan.

I suppose this shouldn't be a surprise. Both my paternal and maternal grandparents have ancestors from Sweden. Who knows. Johan might be a distant cousin.

I like your story and glad that I asked the question so you share a piece of your life, something that happened 40 years ago.  You're right, Johan might be your distant cousin.

Yes, but it ended up that it was just an honest mistake.

Thanks Goody5.  Yes, making an honest mistake is common.  We just have to be nice and polite though.

A new work colleague nearly jumped out of her skin when she saw me. Apparently, I look just like her mum, who wasn't a very nice person. Poor girl often did a double-take, even though her mum lives in another part of the country - and I'm a nice person, honestly!

Thanks Innerspin.  It's good being nice to people because whatever goes around comes around.  Maybe being around you had some positive impact in her life.

Yes, and it was hilarious to me because I thought it was a stretch that my face was mistaken for a popular singer by some coworkers. If true, I'd certainly not have been working a "regular" job like I was at the time.

Yes, it happens occasionally, sometimes when I say, no, I'm not that person...they say are you sure and keep looking at me, I just smile at them.

Being nice to them is a good response.  There are some people who get nasty if you  mistake them for someone else.

This happens to me now and then. For instance, I have had a few people tell me they saw me somewhere and waved at me, but I did not respond to them. Others have told me they have seen me in diverse places, but I know I was not there.

Apparently, there are a couple of really, really, really good looking guys around town that have striking similarities...but I thought I was in a league all by myself. :0)

Just kidding - I'm not much to look at. In fact, when I was young, I was so ugly my parents had to tie a pork-chop around my neck...just so the dog would play with me.

All the time! But only because I have a twin sister. It was bad enough as children when we attended the same schools, sometimes even the same classes but it just got weird when we became adults.

I had one guy come up to me and say I worked too many jobs. Both my sister and I worked 2 jobs at the time.

She went to my work to buy bus tickets and the lady at customer service asked her, "If your name is Heather, why do you go by Heidi at work?"

Thankfully my husband has never mistaken the two of us!

How nice!  I guess you are identical twin sisters.  I'm sure your parents are proud of you both.  Thanks for responding H.
