Should A Man Hold Doors Open For Women Who Are Not Beautiful?

If a man is a REAL man he will hold the door open for any woman wheter she is beaqutiful or not, young or old, rich or poor.  That is the sign of a real man.  To do other wise is to show that you are not a real man or a gentleman.

I can hardly believe this question was actually posted.  It bothers me to think that a woman is any less deserving of basic respect if she does not fit the bill for being beautiful.  Truly this is a no-brainer and you should be ashamed of even thinking of this question let alone needing validation for it.

Common courtesy is to hold a door open for anyone that is in reasonable striking distance of reaching for the door, with special consideration for handicap people or people carrying items or people carrying infants,as well as, very young or old people.

Only a shallow, vain, narcissist would ask such a question.

If you are the kind of person who would decide that only beautiful women are 'worthy' of being treated with respect, than it's clear you're more interested in what others think of you or how it reflects on your attractiveness as a man, than respecting the women you open doors for!

i laughed a little i must admit it, i imagined myself holding the door for 3 beautiful women and then a not so good looking women passes and shut the door in the face! that would be good for a south park or family guy show. But to answer your question Of course if you are a real man you hold the door for a women a kid or an elderly person too, not just women.

Absolutely! A woman is a woman! Young, old, short, tall, whatever it's just the right thing to do and it's respectful.

    Nifty said it all.
As a woman, though, I really appreciate a man going out of his way to hold the door for me.  It is old fashion courtesy and in no way makes me feel like he's suggesting I'm a helpless female!

......a gentleman should always hold the door open for 'anyone' and that includes extremely ugly men!

Unfortunately, you are speaking about very true situations. Mostly, 99.9% of the time when I go anywhere a man will hold the door for me. He will even wait, if I have just gotten out of my car!. I have seen these same men not do that, for other women, some even had children with them. Its pretty bad, my answer to your question is "Yes, men should hold the door open for a woman eventhough she is not attractive." It won't kill you to make a random woman feel special for a day. You may be the only man who has done that for her in a long time.

Yes. I'm disturbed that you asked this question. Every woman deserves to be treated like a lady. It's about being courteous and respectful not pretending to be courteous only if a woman meets your expectations.
