    Let them do it... If they were to learn a lesson, they shall it learn it gradually..
    Punishing someone for lying is not the ultimate remedy.

    Avoid them like the plague. Anyone who lies will (usually) enter into other mischief like stealing, cheating, etc.

    I tend to ignore them, laugh at them or teach them a lessen - relevant to who they are and what age they are.

    Unless it affects your family or friends, let it go. Choose your battles wisely.  Hey, if it makes them feel better, and doesn't hurt you or anyone you know/love...let it go.  There are too many things in life that we have to deal with.  You don't have to deal with that.

    Once it happens, then you know.  Regardless what they say, just don't believe it (kind of like a movie or fictional book...and let it go).

    Just my opinion.  My energy and defense is reserved for things that are worth fighting for.
