What do guys really mean when they say they want to be in "control?"
They are fed up of the other half making decisions for them. Stop intefering and telling me what to do, I'm a big boy now, I can up my own mind. I don't need mothering. If I want to go to the game on Saturday, that's where I'm going, not trolling around the shops with you. When we go shopping, I don't want to spend hours looking at what you want, and then put up with your impatient mutterings after I look at something for two minutes; the list is probably infinite.
MickS,
You're absolutely right. Everyone has the right to do what they want, and I know what you mean about making up your own mind. There's nothing worse than having someone try and tell you what to do. Also, shopping time should be equal. Lisa
I actually never heard a guy come right out and say I want to be in control, unless it was like of the remote or something like that lol..If he said I want to be in control of the relationship then that would be a red flag for me. It may be that he is insecure and needs to feel as though he is the "boss", that he is the one who makes the decisions, but that is not how a relationship should work.
jennshealthstore,
My friend actually had a guy come out and say that to her.Can you believe it?
Thanks,
Lisa
Wow, well I do not know your friends circumstances, how long they were together etc. but if that ever happened to me I would get out ASAP before it was to late and he really tries to take control! Once you are stuck its hard to get out.
It depends whether he means he wants to be in control of himself or in control of everything and everyone. If he's a control freak you should run for your life. Sometimes, though, guys do the macho thing and don't really mean it that way. I remember a TV show which showed engaged couples, and they asked them "Who will make the big decisions?" The young man immediately declared, "Me, oh, definitely that will be me!" He then turned to his smiling fiancee and asked, "Is that OK with you?"

When guys say the want to be left alone do they really mean it?I think a lot of girls are like me, when I say I don't want to talk to anybody, I usually do want to talk to someone. Is it different for men?

What does it really mean to be politically incorrect?...Question mark with ellipsis. I hear people saying they're politically incorrect individuals - they are rude, inpolite, pugnacious and disrespectful. 400 years ago, most people were polite and respectful, so if you were the opposite...

When people say, "As long as you need help, I will help" do they really mean it?I was told by a person that I could go to them for help as long as I needed it after I expressed a concern that I was being a burden. I did not want to be a burden. When that person said that I could get their...
