How can respectful dialogue occur if a person refuses to have any dialogue!?

Just had another odd chat on HP about having respectful dialogue on HP but the Hubber refuses to chat. Is that respectful?

If someone does not want to chat with you, consider it as them doing you a favor.  You've dodged a bullet.  Most likely this person is arrogant and has nothing beneficial to say to anyone.  There are plenty of other rubbers out there who will give you good conversation.  You're better off without this Hubber.  Some people are only here to play games with others.

Oztinato, Very few people are walking around with a hand held up in the air screaming:
"I'm looking for someone to change me!"
You may be the one with the communication problem as you seem unable to understand they aren't interested. Move on!smile

I will just be patient. "The force is strong with this one" or "Strong with this one is the Force".

If you don't know what to say, you prefer to not say anything. Sometimes it's better to not have any kind of dialogue, than a dialogue with insults. I f he isn't responding, means that he is might recognising his mistakes.

Why would you want to chat with someone who has no desire to chat with you? Each of us gets to (choose) how we want to spend our time and with whom we want to engage with.
Periodically it's up to us to (respect) and (accept) the fact some people have no desire to engage with us.
Rejection may sting but it won't kill you. Move on!

Because they want to analyze what causes a breakdown in communication on HP.!

What causes a breakdown in communication is when one or both parties decides they through talking!
Grant me the serenity to (accept) the things I cannot change, change the things that I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. smile

Re the question: therefore that would be disrespectful dialogue.

Re the question. It's disrespectful not to give people their space when you know they're not in a talking mood. Trying to get someone to do something against their will is not polite.
If someone desires to speak with you they will contact you.

The person claims to want to have respectful dialogue. You cant have that without dialogue. Conundrum.

Do you have any idea what country they live in or their weather conditions?  They may be sick too, you never know on the internet what is going on with another.  Patience and some respect for them goes a long way. It isn't always just about you.

Silence is a very powerful kind of dialogue. It may be sharp, negative and painful, or quite positive, actually.

It may be sometimes a blessing that we do or did not get a response which may hurt infinitely more than the silent response.

It is also the nature of humans to protect themselves, and if your friend is anything like me, some responses can be quite predictable and may be necessary to avoid by simply remaining silent. In this case, the adage that silence is golden, becomes a very meaningful one, however painful.

It is generally an active mind that seeks answers. The heart already knows. Much peace.

Good answer! But she has a hub asking for respectful dialogue.

I see your point, and yes, perhaps there is some irony there. Us humans do not always behave the way we're expected to. Still, leave her to God. Peace.
