Choice in Sexuality - when did you choose? Part 2
FOLLOW UP TO A PREVIOUSLY ASKED QUESTION. Sexuality. When did you choose? Were you young? Old? After an interesting experience, or a disturbing one? My belief is that if one states that sexuality is a choice, then it is one they have obviously had to make - to be straight, or to be gay. So, I'm looking to see when people made their choices, cause I'm curious. Answers will be included in an updated hub. Thanks in advance
I don't believe there is a choice. People are attracted to whomever they are attracted. The heart wants who it wants. A straight man can not choose to settle down for the rest of his life with a man. A gay man can choose to settle down for the rest of his life with a woman.
Some people may be close enough to the middle of the spectrum that they could be happy with either man or woman (truly no preference bisexuals.) They might settle into a monogamous relationship with either but they can't "choose" not to be attracted to both.
I didn't choose, I was always attracted to women and not to men and I have gay friends who say the opposite. It's simply how we're made.
I was about 9 years old and watching "The Dukes of Hazzard" when I suddenly noticed that Daisy Duke was pretty dang hot stuff,.
I always seem to make bad decisions, so I'd rather not make this one.
When we understand the biblical metaphors of of the divisions in man we find 2 genders, 4 primary ethnics plus the various mixed ethnics, 12 eastern (yearly) and 12 western (monthly) Zodiac signs and the reason for them is each life-force has to experience every attribute of both genders of man and all of the mixtures before we, as children of god, are qualified to become god, therefore, we can only say we chose our sexuality when we chose our specific incarnation.
I did not choose. Automatically I was/am interested in men. Women are beautiful, but they don't do it for me.
Thanks for your answer. As a follow up, I'm interested to know if you believe homosexuality is a choice? (To the best of my ability - I will remove any comments that have a go at you for yr answer to this one...on this comment list...ok?)
I honestly don't know. I didn't choose to be heterosexual, I just am.
Thanks for answering the follow up. Much appreciated.
When I was in Kindergarten, I began to be attracted to little boys. I called them boyfriends, but my old-fashioned parents refused to let me call a little kid a boyfriend. They said I was not old enough to have a boyfriend. I never had an attraction for women but had female friends who were attracted to both sexes in teen-age years..
When I was in 5th grade school, one male Hollywood actor gave me the tingles. He was one HOT number. Smoldering, Scorpionic types send me into a tailspin. BTW, the actor is Michael Callan, I LOVE the male species.
well i chose to be lesbian after a couple of relationships. As i grew up my parents always told me to have a boyfriend and to never like the same sex but as i was growing up i thought why would they say that, so i made a little experiment and i went out with a boy then with a girl, and the way i felt during each relationship and after every break up was totally different. I wasn't as affected with a guy but when i broke up with a girl i felt terrible and i felt the need to be with a women. Sounds dumb but thats just how i feel....
