seems to lead to misery and divorce, let alone legal entanglements why do married people bother cheating?
Weakness would be a simple answer, and for many it is probably true, but in most cases it is far more complicated than that. There are a multitude of reasons, many - whether we like it or not - beyond our control. Psychology, neurology, and even genetics contribute to causes, coupled with circumstances.
The bottom line, for me anyway, is that I find it hard to believe there are many people who wake up one morning and think, "Hey, I think I'll cheat on my spouse today."
You are probably right about that but when they do have those exploratory thoughts latter in the day you would think that men and women who chose to be married would say to themselves, "I made my decision and be done with it." I would love to hear about some of those factors that you mentioned contribute to the problem.
