Merely trying, and failing miserably, to compete with the women's natural born ability to spin falsehoods!
I think that men and women are equally capable of lying. I think that when most people lie it is to avoid dealing with something unpleasant. Unfortunately, the lie almost always eventually surfaces and that which was being avoided was only delayed, then became more damaging by adding a lack of trust into the situation. I know it's trite, but honesty is the best policy.
Because they just want a quiet life and can't be bothered with inquisitions from their women.
...ha ha ha...me too - i just want peace man...i think it goes both ways re the inquisition...if i'm too quiet it's misunderstood as if i have sumthin' on my mind that i need to spill........chill i say....
I would be curious as to the reason for the inquistions. As you said, they can go both ways. Was something done in the past that would make another suspicious or is the inquisitor just a paranoid individual? If trust was broken, I would understand the questions and tolerate them as part of the healing process. If the person is just paranoid I would be tempted to find my way out.
..reason...i don't know.. ..it's just the way i am - sometimes i'm lost in thought and some folks read into it and over analyze...and think it's about 'them' or something is wrong that i should talk about...whatever? I say! ...it's about me and my thoughts..it's simple.....i'm just thinking - that's all...and don't feel i need to discuss everything that's on my mind...quiet is really nice sometimes ...
Yep that sounds like it.
It's also easier to lie if you don't want every sentence, every expression, every nuance of body language pulled apart, analysed, with the result that she comes to some conclusion about something that just isn't there.
Women think too much. Men are simple shallow creatures.
1. So as to increase their access to vaginas
2. So to guard against nagging from their significant other
3. To avoid confrontation when the outcome would be negative
Men who lie cannot be trusted at ALL. If a man will lie about 1 thing, then he will lie about anything and everything to suit his case, or cause. No trust , no relationship.
So few people seem to understand how lying erodes the foundation of any relationship. I think if they did that people would just take their lumps for being honest up front and get it over with. I don't know why someone would stay in any kind of a relationship with someone who lies OR someone who make them constantly feel they must lie.
I'm with Pamela NO trust = No passion, No future - Just can't give my all if I gotta put up walls like that.
Because they are In love with themselves, and want to spend allot of time doing what "they" want to do.
When did we start judging one's capacity to lie based on gender?
I hoped we had moved on.
Bless you, you've such a good heart. Battle of the sexes, moved on? I think not. One man's lie is another man's attempt to answer a loaded question. So, does my bum look big in this?
dude, I think they are plotting a power shift.
It has already shifted where I am. The girls rule here.... I am outnumbered.
Just give it up, you know you guys can't win! And if we say you're liars, then you're liars!
I can't even get lies past the 5 yer old twins, so I dare not even deny that I have sweets!
I got done over about a week ago when I said I had no sweets then one of the twins went through my rubbish and came up with the packaging!
Her twin then leaps on me yelling "Your busted granpa!"
Just shows men are not good liars when a couple of fiive year olds can bust you out!
It's amazing, this question. Men do lie, as do women, but we get the flack. Is it because women lie better than men, they got better game, so we get caught more often?
Naw! We men get used to women's lies and don't confront them because they will merely tell more lies. So in a sense, we are preventing them from further falsehoods. No need to thank us!
But our lies are only little white ones..you guy tell WHOPPERS!
Ah no, 'mon cherie', I beg to differ; you just look prettier while doing it. I've known some women to drop some King Fish Big-Time Whoppers. A little wink here, some shoulder there, that beautiful smile ..... what were we talking about?
Oh REALLY!!?? Little white ones, huh? You must be one of the good ones. Because I've met a FEW women who are honest to a fault and a TON of women who are borderline sociopaths they lie so damn much.
When men lie, they don't think much of getting caught. They just want to make whatever issue it is go away. Often they think their woman just wants to hear something reassuring. They also don't believe women want to hear the truth no matter what they hear from women. Every time we are brutally honest or even just candid, we get in trouble.
On the other hand, when women lie they get three of their female friends, both of their sisters, their mother and their grandmother involved and have them all lying on their behalf. Don't even try to deny it, I've seen this over and over both with women I've been in relationships with and with women I've been close friends with who were cheating on their boyfriends.
As for my own personal standards, if I have a girlfriend who is trying to psycho analyze me, I find myself starting to internalize. Same thing if I'm out at a social event or just somewhere in public and I see a woman (check that, more often than not, it is a group of women who are doing this because one of them finds me attractive or interesting) who is trying to observe me from across the room and pick apart every one of my apparent characteristics, I will usually become somewhat expressionless. We don't like feeling we are under a microscope, and if you don't pick apart every thing we say, we are more inclined to speak our minds.
Men get caught more often I think.
Women of any age have that "female instinct" thing going...... I am justly terrified of it!
Fear of the unfathomable.
People lie. In my life, Ive met far more dishonest women than men, but really.....I don't think its gender based. Its species wide.
I'm a generally honest sort, but thats mainly bcos Im unafraid of being judged for the most part. I think alot of people ARE afraid of being judged and sized up by others, and so they get used to presenting themselves a certain way.
The origional question merely points out the immature minds. Between men and women , anyone with any maturity knows one is as good a liar as the other, depends on the situation , the minute we fall into the slide of "he said she said" and this sexist type of discourse we lose! Good luck in maturing.
people lie sometimes for various reasons mostly to cover their beautiful a**, to mislead, bec. of fear and so on and on bla bla bla...
Your not lying about this are you?
Us men never lie... we never have any need to as we are all caring and honest towards our other halves.....
Sorry to say this but often you women make a situation in which a man has to lie.
Me, me! "Gee God, Eve found that apple over by the river! She never went close to the tree at all! Ask the snake, he saw everything"!
oh!i can see ur replies every where so i think you are defending that woman are not liars. This shows that u r lieing.
'Cause women can't handle the truth.
'Cause when the policewoman said anything you say can and will be held against you, I couldn't say breasts.
'Cause the voices in my head tell me what to do.
Men lie to woman cause..."Honey,does this dress make my ass look fat?".
Woman lie to men cause"Oh my God,it's SO Big".one hand washes the other.Tit for Tat...pun intended...
I can only say , when my wife says do I look huge in these capri's?, "No honey" , I realize that I must compromise my perfect character and virtues . Otherwise we are all in Dissappearinheads shoes. I feel for you man!
We lie from fear and political reasons. Best liars make the best politicians, whom we elect into our government and naively expect them to perform well. They do perform well but only in more lies.
LoL, nice one! It takes some excellent acting skills on the political scene, no wonder so many small and big - time actors became involved in politics later in their lives
Our contemporary culture is littered with stereotype-based presumptions, mindframes and idioms. And such common denominators are the easy justification for behavior, deprived of any deeper analysis. "Why do men lie?" Men don't lie any more than women. It is about individuals, about particular relationships and situations.
They've been lying since day one! Or do you still believe that story that Eve ate the apple? Baloney!!
Men lie probably to judge themselves that how much can they live in fantasy!!!!!!!!!

I became friends with his guy. I am still trying to figure out why he lied so much about everything from having heart problems to where he grew up to his parents dying, were all lies. Why do people lie?So this is a continuous pattern for me including everyone around me, the fact that people lie. I'm not talking about the small white lies, I'm talking about the ones that change the game of the story. I was acquainted by a classmate of mine to play basketball and chill out and...
