Why do some people in the Old Testament live to be 900 years old?
I'll be happy to live to 80s so that I could get money back from Social Security.
I've asked myself the same question many times...
Maybe good genes and a healthy diet? Just kidding of course.
Personally, I think is to do with God wanting to show us that HE is the One in charge. He can give life, prolongs life an take it away when he chooses to.
I believe that it was also a sign of Prophethood. One could hardly denie such a miracle and it would make the message they had easier to be believed.
It's all I got.
I've read, a long time in the past, cos I'm knocking on a bit now, that they followed a Lunar calendar and every Lunar month was considered to be a year. Weird idea I know, and I can't remember the source for verification. divide 900 by 12/13, say 12.5, and we get 72, who knows?

Why is it that if a good person claims to see god it is believed but....if a serial killer or crack addict says that it is not believed? For believers do you believe God would only talk to positive people?
