Jen, Do I understand you to say the Church, the Body of Christ, is Christ's bride? Need BCV, please!
BCV = Book-Chapter-Verse. Here are several (the most prominent), but not all, mentions that the Church is the Body of Jesus Christ: 1 Corinthians 12:12-13, 27; Ephesians 1:22-23; 4:13-16; Colossians 1:18, 24. Now while I believe it's not possible, please furnish a verse or passage which says: The Church is the bride of Christ. OR, the bride of Christ is His Body, the Church. Thank you in advance for your effort. Blessings, peace, and love in the joy and privilege of serving Christ & in testifying of Him! Rich Prickitt
no I do not believe that the church is the Bride of Christ. I believe that it is one woman. A human woman who is like Christ as she has the mind of God to some point who marries Christ here on earth in secret so secret that some times she cannot believe it too. But he is here and in disguise as he is just like one of us and is a regular kind of guy but he reveals himself to his wife and only her. in
Revelation it says that he will have a name that nobody will know but himself. That means that nobody will recognize him when he is here for his bride. It's scriptural. It's true and happening now. Jennifer
Dear Jen, Your reply is so far off from what Scripture says about Jesus, the Lamb of God, and His wife, "the holy city, new (holy)Jerusalem," which comes down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. (Cf. Rev. 21:2, 9-11.)
The new Jerusalem is a city and a city is full of souls and the New Jerusalem is a woman who's body houses those souls that make up the Bride of Christ.
This idea primarily comes from Ephesians 5:22-33 where the relationship between husband and wife is set as a parallel between the relationship between Christ and the Church. There is also mention og the Bride of Christ in Revelation 19:7 (not explicit, but has been interpreted this way, could be circumstantial evidence), the bridegroom is also mentioned in Matthew 9:15, Mark 2:19 and Luke 5:34.
This article from a Biblical scholar gives a pretty good explanation, in my opinion.

In Eph. 5:18, Paul begins his relationship seminar, beginning with one's relationship with God. In 5:23-30, Paul uses the highest standard of love-that of Christ for His Body, the Church-to challenge a husband to love his wife sacrificially. In Rev19

Why does it seem most Christians are immature. It seems most people professing to be Christian do not have a proper grounding in the scriptures. They drink the milk but do not seem to be able ( or maybe no desire?) to eat the real meat- understand the deeper things of God, in spite of the fact...

Whoever and whatever we are, irregardless of race, religion or creed, if we learn that a protein molecule called 'laminin,' in the form of a cross binds our cells and tissues together as one human body like an adhesive, are we not happy that all along since the beginning of man, as I firmly believe...

God said the of today church is lukewarm and not hot or cold, and that this church is the worst in the history of the church. What is it about this church age would up-set God's stomach so bad?
