    Is hate UN-Godly?

How can people who claim to believe in God practice hate? Unless they are saying that their righteousness is more than God, what conditions would facilitate hate?

obviously not...YAWEH is full of hate himself ...all abrahamic religions have god who hates x thing or y thing....so hate is pretty much part of doctrine...

My understanding of the concept is that God does not hate. He turns his back and allows hate to happen by way of his servant, the Devil. Since the Devil must answer to God always, it is Gods will by indirect means.

Hate is part of human emotions.

One must learn how to let go of hatred in order to be free of illnesses as it is one of the source of sickness.

Be happy and keep smiling. That way, you will be healthier. We have to learn the way of enlightenment to reach our goals of being in the kingdom of paradise. Learn how you can let go of your hatred and soon you will be nearer to God's kingdom.

God, is imperfect, he suffers from emotions - I am a jealous God, a vengeful God, it is fair to guess that he is troubled by other emotions. Be aaware of your emotions, then let them go to get closer to reality.

I’ve often heard that God loves everyone. He hates the sin, but loves the sinner. And that might be true about some gods. But the God of the Bible hates people, right along with the sin.
    Consider these verses:

I hated them: for the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of mine house, I will love them no more ... yet will I slay even the beloved fruit of their womb. -- Hosea 9:15-16
And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them. -- Leviticus 20:23
I will ... cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you. -- Leviticus 26:30
And when the LORD saw it, he abhorred them ... for they are ... children in whom is no faith. -- Deuteronomy 32:19-20
The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity. -- Psalm 5:5
The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth. -- Psalm 11:5
These six things doth the LORD hate ... A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. -- Proverbs 6:16, 19
    I hated Esau. -- Malachi 1:3, Romans 9:13
So the Bible-God hates some people (foreign nations, workers of iniquity, wicked people, and liars, to name a few).

In Islam,We don’t attribute the word ‘hate’ to God because this implies an emotion and emotions are only attributed to the creation, not the Creator. Allah is full of love and forgiveness

"Verily, there are one hundred (parts of) mercy for Allah, and it is one part of this mercy by virtue of which there is mutual love between the people and ninety-nine reserved for the Day of Resurrection."

Narrated Amir b. Sa’d (ra) that Sa’d b. Abi Waqqas (ra) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (sa) say:“Allah loves the servant who is God-fearing, free from want, and is hidden (from the view of people).”
but there are also certain things/characteristics that Allah hates as well, one being associating partners with Him or denying His existance or not accepting Him as our Creator.  Your question is asking if Allah hates non believers? I would think that Allah, who is all Merciful would hate the non muslims beliefs and actions because of that belief, but as for hating them as a person, I am not sure because non muslims can have good qualities/character despite their incorrect beliefs.
Instead of focusing on what God hates, I think its nicer to focus on what he loves and try to do that more and more smile

I think it's important to know what God hates and why he hates it to insure oneself that they themselves are not engaging in such activity.

If a divine being is subject to emotion, and acts upon it, then he has shown himself to lack control and is not perfect.

according to what the bible says, if anything, hate is godly not ungodly. in reality though, there would have to be a god for hate to be anything but hate.

No conditions can justify such a thing as hatred towards oneself, or that of another. Hate is something that originates from a low self esteem, from the desire to gain power by force, and extends itself outwards towards that of the most ignorant of people on this planet.

Once it completely manifests itself, the people who wage its ugly head at others are doomed to be consumed by its selfishness, and utter destructive madness. I despise hatred, and started a campaign against it here on Hubpages a while back using words of faith, righteousness, brotherhood and hope, so I truly want it to be eradicated completely.

I believe that hate in itself is definitely an ungodly act when waged against others, or held deep inside as well, and in my most honest opinion, but only God has the right to judge those who harbor such hatred inside their hearts, minds and souls.

So I leave it up to him to take care of the haters or war mongers, however spreading awareness of love, caring, universal compassion, and affection in every way shape or form, has the truest potential to dissolve all forms of hatred once people begin to realize that this type of change is essential to achieve unity of self, as well as unity with others on this planetary surface.

One condition is when you do not consider another person to be a human.

There are different moods human is made of by God.Many are good and many are bad.The true believe in God and the path that is with His blessings is the place where you find no jealousy, hatred, anger and there is only forgiveness and truth.Hatred for someone brings ill feelings inside us which rather than helping us puts us always in worst situations and all good fails to make us feel good about things.
Thus this is one of the feelings which has no Welcome in the house of God.

I think hate by God is not un-Godly; however, hate by his created may perhaps be; although I am definitely no expert in this area.

There is a thin line as do hate to a sin is right and hate to the sinner is not. There must be punishment for wrong doings but to hate the person who committed it is not justified. The same person may become a real good after some time. A non believer may become a believer of God at any time in his life.

Yes, do we hate, say, Saddam Hussein, as a person, or do we really hate the awful crimes he commited?

The way it's been put to me is that God is Love.   Anything less than total, unconditional love is something lesser than God.  Therefore as we move away from love we move towards lesser and lesser godliness, if I might put it that way.   If you have total love in one direction and total fear in the other, you eventually start getting into ever-increasing fear phenomena, e.g. annoyance, resentment, jealousy, anger, hate, et cetera.

In other words, hate is a degree-of-absence of love.   You could say it is an opposite.  The absolute opposite being absolute fear.

Hate isn't in God's world,He doesn't want you to hate, never that. You'll block your own blessings.
You must be happy for everyone, for all, because that's what He wants for all of us.
Happiness is for everyone,if you can't be happy for others, you'll never know true happiness.
