Faith Moments Today June
Family and Fellowship
With school out and vacationing season upon us, it is easy to put aside the things of the Lord.
In this month's Bible study we will examine four aspects of a believer's life in relationship with God, family and the Body of Christ. We will take a look at the importance of spending time in the presence of God and learning to understand that with God all things are possible.
Our study this month begins with learning about good harvests by sowing now. In the upcoming weeks we'll discuss what God says about us and our inferiority complexes. Week three focuses on honoring the fathers God has placed in our life. Finally, we'll end the month with a lesson on forgiveness of others and self.
Our study in our Faith Moments Today® Devotional will bring us into this course of study:
Week 1: Sowing Good Seed.
Week 2: I Am What I Think I Am
Week 3: Earthly fathers: A gift from our Heavenly Father!
Week 4: In Jesus, We Are Blameless
Bookmark this site so that you will come back each week and follow along with the lessons to help you grow in your faith.

Seed, Time, then the Harvest Comes - Allow God to Work. Sow Something So He Can
God never works out of order or violates His own laws. We must sow the seed, He causes it to grow according to that which was planted. He determines the time of harvest, not us.

Good Seed + Good Soil = Good Harvest
Scripture Reading: Genesis 8:22
"While the earth remains,
seedtime and harvest will not cease." (Genesis 8:22)
Spring and summer are the times for watching things grow. It is such a blessing to see the full red tomatoes on the vines and the golden flowers of the marigolds as they burst forth with life. However, in order for these things to grow, there had to be a time of sowing. Seeds had to be planted. Seeds sown in good soil will bring the benefits of an abundant harvest.
God gave us the example of the seed from His Word in Galatians 6:7-8 to show us that everything we do is a seed. Our words, thoughts, actions, money; all are seeds.
It is time for God's people to sow their seeds. It is time for us to speak God's Words, think God's thoughts, act in Godly ways, and sow finances into His ministries to further the Kingdom of God.
We all love harvest. But let's take care of first things first. Let's sow our seeds in God's Good Soil. Allow time for God to work, then the harvest of blessings will surely come to us!

THOUGHT: I am what I think I am!
Scripture Reading: Deuteronomy 28:1-14
There are times when all of us have experienced a self-esteem problem. Often because of a certain person or situation, we feel inferior or feel as if we have failed.
Proverbs 23:7 says, "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he."
So the question is, what are you thinking? What are you thinking about yourself? If you think you are a failure, that is what you will become. If you think you are poor, that is the way you will stay. If you think you will never be happy, you won't be because your thoughts will take you to what you have sown in your life.
Yesterday I was counseling with a young man (we'll call him Will) who had a terrible self-image, and all he wanted to do was tattoo himself as a reminder of the evil that he was battling. For an hour Will poured out his reasons to validate his actions, but never heard what was being said to him about God's love. He didn't want to be released from his feelings. That gentleman left with a smile on his face, but wasn't ready to receive the message of hope. Basically I told Will, that what you are saying is that what Jesus did on the cross wasn't enough. Even though Will said he is a believer, he didn't believe he could be free from the past and it was his job to fight the devil. How sad that he wouldn't receive all the benefits of the cross that Jesus has provided for those who love Him.
We have studied about seed, time and harvest. This principal goes for our thoughts as well as our actions. But what if we started to think differently. Would the results be different? Yes, if we look at ourselves as God sees us, we can rise above any situation.
Begin to look at yourself in the positive light of God's Word that says (from Deuteronomy 28:6,12,13) you will be blessed when you come and go. You will be the lender not the borrower, made the head, not the tail, be above only and not beneath!
Don't compare yourself to others or the situation you may be in at the moment. Purpose in your heart today to see yourself as God sees you, for as you think in your heart, so you will be.
"...you shall be above only, and you shall not be beneath."( from Deuteronomy 28:13 NKJV)

Earthly fathers: A gift from our Heavenly Father!
Scripture Reading: Proverbs 17:6
" ... the glory of the children are their fathers." (Proverbs 17:6)
Dads, like Moms, are truly wonderful gifts from God. They are fun and very versatile. Look at how many things you talked your dad into doing with you and for you over the years. You know many times he didn't feel like it, especially after a long day at work, but he did it anyway.
Fathers are strong and loving. They provided for us when we were young and couldn't fend for ourselves, and continue to watch out for you even as you get older and raise your own family.
Girls thank Dad for letting you go on that first date, even though he felt like running that boy clean out of town, because no one is good enough for his little girl. Guys, thank Dad for showing you the ropes and for being a Godly example in a sinful world.
"Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land
which the LORD your God is giving you." (Exodus 20:12 NKJV)
We are to show honor to our earthly Dads, and we can start today by letting them know just how we feel. Let us continue to teach our children the importance of honoring our parents (and grandparents).
Be a blessing to your Dad today and every day. He is a blessing gift from God to you!

In Jesus, we are found blameless.
Scripture Reading: Romans 8:1-5
"There is therefore now no condemnation to them
which are in Christ Jesus." (Romans 8:1)
Many Christians are having a condemnation problem that is robbing them of God's peace. They have accepted Christ as Lord and Savior, but haven't forgotten about their past so they can move on to their future in Christ.
The world is very unforgiving and is not willing to forget about our past. God knows all about our past and all we have ever done, yet He doesn't hold us in condemnation for it. Believe what John 3:17 says,
"For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world,
but that the world through Him might be saved."
Jesus came to save us, not condemn us! Our job? Believe we are forgiven.
As believers, we have no right to hold onto things that keep us in condemnation. Jesus said that we are forgiven and He meant it! Stop allowing satan into your mind with things that Jesus covered for us with His blood. Remember, in Christ, there is therefore now NO condemnation!

Are you in fellowship with God?
Pray to Jesus right now by repeating this prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus,
I am sorry for my sins and for not believing in You as the One and only true God. I now want to make things right with You. Please come into my heart and save me. Forgive me of all my sins and make me clean.
I do believe that You died on the cross to save me from hell, and that You rose from the dead and are now in Heaven.
With all my heart I will follow you and be obedient to Your Word, and will fellowship with other believers. Thank you for saving me today.
In Your name I pray, Amen.
