Faith Moments Today ~ November
Praise God from whom all blessings flow ...
Praise God from whom all blessings flow.
This was the message on the sign outside the Ocean City Tabernacle this past Monday, October 29th, 2012 as Hurricane Sandy left her mark on the quiet little island in New Jersey.
As you look at what the people on the East Coast experienced recently, it may be hard to see the faithfulness of God through all this devastation.
Throughout the night that hymn rang in my spirit, before I even saw this photo. The Holy Spirit was giving me a message that we are to praise God in all situations and trust Him to work things out for His glory. He will give us the strength to endure if we remember to thank Him for the answers He is yet to deliver.
Due to the amount of fall activities, we now have two tracts for you to follow. Use them both at the same time or select from each tract; the read through the bible passages are still the same.
Select a teaching track: A or B
Tract A:
Week 1: Joy of the Lord is My Strength
Week 2: One Was Sacrifices So Other May Live
Week 3: Hope Based on Truth Builds Faith
Week 4: Thanksgiving Builds Character
Track B:
Week 1: We’ll start off the month with a “memorial”. What is a memorial anyway other than a way of remembering something worth noting in our lives? November is a month we share with others the things we are most thankful for, and so we start with our thanks to God.
Week 2: Do you lock the doors in your house or on your car? How about the door to your heart? We tend to live with the mindset that a locked door is good, but God doesn’t operate that way. He lives with the open door policy.
Week 3: Thanksgiving Day is often a difficult one for those who have had loved ones leave this life. God reminds us that leaving this place to go live with Him is a good thing, and one we can truly give thanks for at all times.
Week 4: Closing out the month it is necessary that we honor God and thank Him in prayer for all the blessings He has bestowed on us. Our thanksgiving prayer this year is that the Lord God Almighty blesses each and every home with His grace, mercy and love.

Poll: Can we praise in all things?
Is it possible to praise God in the "storm"?
Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow
How many times have we sang this song in our services and yet we have really failed to notice the words? As you sing along with us, truly give God praise for all blessings come from Him alone.
Verses of the Month
"I can do all things through Christ, because He gives me strength!" Philippians 4:13
and
"Forever, O Lord,
Your word is settled in Heaven.
Your faithfulness endures to all generations; You established the earth, and it abides."
Psalm 119:89-90 NKJV
Great is Thy Faithfulness, Lord!
Can you sing this song with a joyful heart? He gives us strength for today and hope for tomorrow. The blessings are all ours, because great is His faithfulness.

Faith Moments for
November 1st-7th
Track A: Joy ... of the Lord is My Strength
Scripture Reading: 2 Corinthians 7
The dictionary describes joy as an emotion of pleasure, delight, happiness, etc. Many people don’t have true joy because they seek their joy through things of the flesh. If you only get joy and happiness based on events in your life, you’re missing out on the true joy God intended for His children.
Acts 13:52 gives account that the disciples were continually filled with joy and the Holy Spirit. How is that possible? The Word of God instructs that for us to operate in real joy on a daily basis, we have to fellowship with the Lord and be in His Word daily.
Are you longing for your joy to return and stick with you? Do you need spiritual strength? Then spend time with the Lord today that your joy may be full and you may be strengthened to do whatever He asks of you.
"And these things we write to you that your joy may be full." (1 John 1:4)
Track B: Memorial of God's Faithfulness
Scripture Reading: Lamentations 3:22-24
Every believer can recall a time when God's blessing and faithfulness worked a wondrous thing in our life. We have a responsibility to testify or tell others of the great things that God has done for us.
Our Heavenly Father is faithful and true to His Word. What He has promised in His Word, He will do. Jeremiah 1:12 says that "I will hasten My Word to perform it."
I encourage you to use your testimony as a memorial before God of His faithfulness to you. The spoken memorial testimony is biblical and often leads others to the Lord. Tell others what God has brought you out of and has done for you. When you tell someone else of God's great blessings, every time they think about what He did for you, they will be reminded of His great faithfulness, and what He is willing to do for them. To God be the Glory!

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. - Revelation 3:20
When we were children we sang this song. Are we still singing it? If you open the door of your heart, Jesus promises that He will come in. He will forgive you of your sins and cleanse you from all unrighteousness. But you have to be the one to open the door.
Faith Moments for
November 8th-14th
Track A: One Was Sacrificed So Others May Live
Scripture Reading: *1 John 3:16; John 10:15
"By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren." (1 John 3:16)
Sometimes you wonder if those that sign up to serve our country really realize the importance of their mission. Have they really thought of all the scenarios that could happen? If they did, would they still want to serve?
God’s Word teaches that Jesus willfully laid down His life for His brethren because of love. This week tell someone who served your country to protect and keep you safe, thank you for their love and service.
God’s Word defines love as action, not feelings. We show our love by our actions toward others. Thank You Lord for those who acted in love so I could live in a free country and serve You. (John 10:7-14)
Track B: Open Door Policy
Scripture Reading: Matt. 7:7-8, Rev. 3:8-20
Jesus has an open door policy where we are concerned. He doesn't withhold Himself from us.In Matthew 7:7-8 He tells us that everyone who asks receives, he that seeks finds, and to him that knocks it shall be opened. No need for a key, no secret knock. The welcome mat is always in place and we are truly welcome.
Now lets ask this question of ourselves; Do we have an open door policy for Christ? In Revelation 3:20 Jesus has this to say,
"Behold I stand at the door and knock; if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me."
Jesus wants to fellowship with us. He is standing at the door, knocking. Is the welcome mat out and will you open the door? Will you let Him in?

Going Home ~ Where I Belong!
When you are feeling that the world is crashing down on you, remember you're just passing through. We're only here for a short time and then we'll join those we love ... we'll finally be home, where we belong.
Faith Moments for
November 15th-21st
Track A: Hope Based on Truth Builds Faith
Scripture Reading: 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
During the holiday season many of our friends and loved ones go through a time of sadness over those that have “fallen asleep” as the Bible describes. They may find it difficult to celebrate and focus on anything joyful. It was for that reason the Holy Spirit inspired the Apostle Paul in the book of Thessalonians to remind us of our hope in God’s Word as Truth.
Our hope in the Word is that we will one day be joined together with all our loved ones who went home before us. Verse 18 reminds us to comfort one another with these words.
To a believer, all hope is not lost, but gained in the promise of God’s Word. If someone you know is experiencing a difficult time because of lost hope, sadness or grief, do what the Word says and comfort them with the blanket of hope in God’s Word. Let them know they are not alone during this season.
Track B: Home Going
Scripture Reading: Revelation 21
Having three family members and a friend pass away this year, we might think of leaving earth as a horrible thing, when in fact, it really is the opposite. It certainly doesn't make you want to celebrate or be in the thanksgiving mood. So how are we to cope and not fall into despair? Remember, we're just passing through.
The home going or passing away of a born again believer is a time of rejoicing in Heaven. If we think about some of the things that we know about Heaven: no night there, no crying, streets of gold, and the eternal presence of God. "Home Goings" are an awesome thing.
But there are many who will not be experiencing that upon their death. They will be ushered into eternal darkness, suffering, and separation from God. Their home going is not going to be a time of joy or celebration.
Christians should want all to experience the joy and rejoicing of a life preserved forever with our Heavenly Father. It is so important that we are bold in reaching out to the lost with the good news of the Gospel. Like Jesus, we should not be willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance and a saving knowledge of our Lord and Savior.
Maybe you have experienced a home going of someone this year or know of someone else who has. Please share in this hope, that going home to the Lord is where we belong. That's why Christ died for us, so that we would all go home to Heaven.

Faith Moments for
November 22nd-30th
Track A: Thanksgiving Builds Character
Scripture Reading: 1 Thessalonians 5:11-22
Being thankful for all things is a character trait of Christ that needs to be developed in all believers. The Apostle Paul encourages us in our reading today to be thankful for and love those who teach or instruct us in the things of the Lord.
He continues to tell us that in doing so, we need to be at peace among our own, to disciple those who become unruly, comfort the discouraged and support or uplift the weak and have patience with all, praying continually. This seems like a lot to keep up with, but when we operate in love and not out of the flesh, we can live in peace.
In doing these things we need to thank the Lord for using us to help those in need, rather than complain about how hard it is. When we give thanks in doing these things, we are doing God’s will and pleasing Him. His Spirit is not extinguished in us, but is rekindled by love building our character in Christ. That is real thanksgiving isn’t it? Have a Happy & Blessed Thanksgiving!
Track B: Thanksgiving Prayer
Scripture Reading: Psalm 95:1-7
Heavenly Father, we dedicate this Faith Moments today as a time of prayer and thanksgiving to You. We thank You for sending Jesus to pay the price for our sins, and that by His shed blood we can be presented spotless before You.
Lord we thank You for the abundance of all good things that You have given us to enjoy. We praise You for our families and our freedom. We thank You for our health and healing and for the joy of the Lord which is our strength.
Help us to realize that every day is a day of thanksgiving. Every day is an opportunity to offer up praises to our Heavenly Father.
Lord thank You for this day and for Your grace and mercies that are new every morning. We give You praise and thanksgiving in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Are you in fellowship with God
Pray to Jesus right now by repeating this prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
I am sorry for my sins and for not believing in You as the One and only true God. I now want to make things right with You. Please come into my heart and save me.
Forgive me of all my sins and make me clean.
I do believe that Your Son Jesus died on the cross to save me from hell, and that He rose from the dead and is now in Heaven.
With all my heart I will follow You, be obedient to Your Word, and will fellowship with other believers. Thank You for saving me today.
In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
