If you believe in Jesus what are the reasons for your belief?
I believe in Jesus Christ because he believed in me. If I was the only person on the face of the earth Jesus still would have come and gave his life fo me so that I may live. I like the way Theodor Epp puts it in his book "Christ Preeminent" "For me to live is Christ (Phil. 1:21) Jesus is the believer's life and experience. He is the source of it, the beginning of it and the strength of it-He is everything concerning the belivers life". My life is Jesus Christ, not a mere system of ethics but a cirtain code of ethics results from that life. The life it self is that which flows from Jesus. What ever I do results from the relationship I have with Jesus. Doing comes from the being.
I was invited to Church one Sunday about 26 years ago. I was not seeking anyone I just went because I was invited. The Church Service went along as it should until the Word Of God was Preached about half way though the sermon I was hit by a force until this day I cannot explain except to quote the Bible. The Word of God is Like a Two Edged sword that goes deep into your body into the morrow of your bones yes it shook me so bad I had to hold hold to the pew in front of me to keep myself from jumping up and running to the front. But you see the Father of me for so long Satan told me just calm down hold on be still be quiet don't move hold hold and calm down just get out of this Church you will be ok. Well I did make it out but I was hit by the one who says no one seeks after me unless the Father draws him. I had a very sleepless night. I got up on Monday and said just get to work and you will forget about everything. Not ! it was the most Miserable Day of my life when I left to get home I cried and I called that Preacher Man and ask him to come over. He lead me along the The Romans Road To Salvation threw Jesus Christ. Man was the monkey off my back I was a new man here is one fact I will tell you before that Monday Night I smoked 2 packs of cigarettes a Day that night and from then on 0 cigarettes. Now I did not ask the Lord to take them away he just did it I was a new creation my love for my fellow man was unexplainable if it happens the His Spirit confirms it with your Spirit. It is totally The Most Wonderful thing that has ever happen to me the Joy fo my Salvation was simply Amazing! He Loved me before I even knew who he was simply Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First of all, this is a very good question that is asked. The Bible says blessed are those that believe but have never see. I believe in Him because over 2000 years ago He died for me on an old rugged cross which was an emblem of suffering and shame.
The pessimist, the antagonist, th negative folk will have you to believe that nothing is sure, nothing is certain, and that nothing is forever.
But I beg to differ with these spitually absentminded folk because Jesus is sure....HE's for certain... and yes He's forver. He's my assurance....my Blessed Assurance. You know what my friend, Jesus loved me and still loves me despite the fact that I sometimes sin.
I believe in Him because of my personal experience that I have had and I still have with Him. Paul had his experience with Jesus on the Damascus Road. My experience may not have been like Paul's experience but never the less I've had my own experience. Yes He walks with me and He talks with me. I know who I am and I know whose I am. There's not enogh room or time for me to tell why I believe in HIm. He is Real, Yes He's real and I can feel Him in my soul!
Be Blessed,

My reasons are, I was raised to believe in Jesus. I've seen his work in some peoples lives. Every single one of my prayers have been answered. That and many other reasons are why I believe.
I am called and chosen by The Father to His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ and thereby GIVEN the ability to believe so that I cannot boast. Therefore it is not MY belief nor is it MY faith but the belief and faith that I was given at the point of my calling.
Eph 2:8-9 (KJV) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
I do not believe in a 'Jesus' as there was Greek god by that name. This phony Jesus is usually portrayed as a long haired effeminate looking wimp with a pathetic little goatee beard.
In contrast to this idolatrous nonsense, I believe in The Lord Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of The Father who came to this earth and spoke with power and authority. He overturned the money changers tables and called the men of religion nests of vipers and hypocrites. I continue that mission.
I believe in Jesus because He first believed in me. I believe because He has never given me any reason to doubt His existence. He has always been here for me. In good times and bad times. He has taught me that I truly can believe in the unseen without any doubt whatsoever. A better question to me, is how could any person not believe in Jesus. Even History itself has proved His existence.
First, I was brought up Catholic. I today, am not a practicing Catholic but, all of the things that have happened in my life makes my belief stronger. If there were no Jesus then there is no evil, and that today evil is everywhere. Jesus makes life easier to handle. If lifes complications really get to you then you have no beliefs which in turn makes your life miserable. My beliefs in God and his son and the Holy Spirit has made all the saddness in my life acceptable. Some people believe in karma, some believe coincedence, I however believe in God and his son!!!
Isn't it odd that people who don't have any kind of belief seem to turn to God when things aren't always real.
He is "the way, the truth, the life," and no one comes to the Father except through Him.
Hey man, I believe in jesus because my life would basicly suck without him, my mom was diagnosed with canser when i was eight, and god has been a compete and total friend to me. He has helped me through so many things and I am thankful hes been here.
I believed in Jesus because it was forced to me when I was still intelectually defenseless as the rest of the children in the world=)

...when Jesus clearly said 'My Father is Greater than I' in John 14:28?Nothing can be greater than God, so by Jesus' own words, we can deduce that Jesus did not profess to be God, because he professes that there is a power Greater than him (Jesus). Why then do many Christians firmly believe that...

We are the children of God through GRACE, which is a participation of the divine life in our soul. We lost this through our original sin. But LORD JESUS CHRIST restored it for us by dying on the cross. But despite all these sacrifices LORD JESUS CHRIST has done for us to save us...
