Yes, In order to be saved and have your name written in the book of life you must do two things 1)repent ie. turn away from your sins 2) Trust in Jesus Christ alone for your salvation. It's simple, but not easy. After you truly do this God gives you a spiritual heart transplant. It's like you can see the world for what it is, a place full of darkness, evil, and corruption. And your heart will break for the ones who do not know Christ and you will feel compelled to tell them about God. You will be persecuted and mocked by many, because you see the truth.
The Bible answers your question :-)
John 14:6 "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.'"
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."
Acts 4:12 "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved."
John 3:3 "Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God."
2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come."
Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast."
I have written a hub called, "Come to JESUS: Salvation": http://hubpages.com/hub/Come-to-JESUS-Salvation
Yes, you need to be saved in order to be a part of the first Resurrection which will occur when The Lord returns to this earth to rule it for a thousand years. No one is going to heaven.
In order to be saved you have to be called by The Father to His Son. Salvation is not acquired by people accepting a 'Jesus' as their saviour. This idea is a mainstream Christian lie.
John 6:44 (KJV) No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
John 6:65 (KJV) And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.
How many times do I have to quote these Holy Scriptures before they actually sink in?
While I'm certain yes2truth hit the (-) button on Judah's Daughter's post to you, and perhaps others of his L. Ray Smith group (they believe contrary to the Word, in my most confident opinion), I have challenged their beliefs that God has to "draw" or "DRAG" us to salvation. We are saved by faith, as shown in Ephesians 2:8 and in Romans 10:17 we are told how we receive this faith: "faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ."
I expect they will also mark this with a (-) rating, but I encourage you to read my hub addressing yes2truth's twisting of these passages here: http://hubpages.com/hub/SALVATION-Unless-God-DRAG-Us
Don't let anyone rob you of your salvation! God loves you and so do His children. :-)
First off, the term "salvation" in it's nutshell means "to heal the whole". Simple terms it means, "healing". Jesus came to heal people.
What we need is faith, and faith comes only from God. (It IS one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, which means that the unbelievers do not have it.) Those with God given faith, who follow Jesus Christ and ONLY Jesus Christ will get to go into the kingdom of Heaven at the first resurrection.
Kingdom of Heaven on Earth =/= Heaven in the sky.
Yes and Yes.
Romans 10: 9-10
" If we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and Savior and believe in our hearts he was raised from the dead and confess our sin we will be saved."
My simple answer turned intoa hub. If led go and check it out. Cheerio for now

A friend told me she didn't "feel saved" anymore. I told her salvation is a gift from God. You either accept it or you don't. There is no feeling saved. You either are or are not. I'm praying about how to further explain this to my friend. Any suggestions on scriptures or other...

Christians, If you sin and die 5 minutes later do you go to hell?So if you don't have time to ask for your forgiveness do you go to hell? Can your God forgive you and accept you into heaven even if you didn't get a chance to ask for him to forgive?

How Does A Christian Know If They Are Saved Or Not?
by Thomas 10 years ago
What do I do to get saved? The Bible talks about salvation, and being saved. What is necessary for this? Can we be assured of heaven? If so, how? And how do we know?

Can only Christians and those who accept Jesus Christ go to heaven?According to Christianity, only those who have openly accepted Jesus Christ and the Christian faith may go to heaven. If that is the case, what about the African tribe who has never heard of of Jesus? Even if they are good people,...

When Jesus said the kingdom of heaven is within you. What did he mean?
