Success should not be measured just in making money and wealth. We should consider other things like activities and achievements in other fields also.

Knowing at the end of each day, I have both learned and taught; led and followed; and most of all, loved and been loved.

We are in the race of materialistic world. We all need name, fame and money to survive in this hostile world. We can not even imagine our life without all these things. So in my opinion every one needs these three things which make a person successful:

    # name

    # fame

    # money

These three things makes a man successful. Even me too wants all these three things so that at the end of the day I will able to feed me as well as my family. But except these three things I would like to be a well civilized human being which adds one more feather in my definition of Success.

Its all about my own opinion.

Success means not allowing the stresses of everyday life overwhelm us. It means enjoying life, nature and each other. We should all strive to get to this point.

Success for me means that I've set a goal for myself (now matter how big or small) and pushed through each step of adversity to accomplish the goal.  Examples of success for me is rearing my children to be productive, loving, and wise; and leaving a positive mark in my area of influence that lingers even when I'm gone.

    Hi Rajan,

Your question is simple enough but will provoke different thoughts. It must be so. The 'material' will see it one way and the 'spiritual' will see it another way. On a soccer pitch, the Goalkeeper will save goals, and the Striker will score goals. In an Orchestra, the flute will be the flute, and the piano will give of a different sound. So too with human beings.

Sages say that if we want the tree to blossom, then we need to water the roots. There is a Source to all things. Why do we want to succeed? Is it for name, fame, security? What prompts us to want these things? Are we lacking somehow? Does life feel empty and why is it so?

When the corn is properly harvested, the seeds are plentiful, the soil looks excellent, even the stalks look great. So I say that there need not be a separation from the material to the spiritual. They are essentially one. Remember, not the Soul for Nature, but Nature for the Soul. I hope this helps. Wishing you Love, Light and Innner abundance.

Being able to meet all the needs of my children, especially the financial needs, including college money and emergency funds, and having their respect for doing it.

Success means the fullfillment of ones desire. It may be the money to the poor one wheather it is not only the means of success to the rich. At present a handsome money and my girlfriends love are the success to my life. :p

It is relative for me, because I have many things to achieve in my life. Once I manage to reach one, and other people say I am successful --- other ones are waiting for me. Even, I may say, if the God bless me to live longer, I still have many things to reach, the aspiration and the ambition in my mind. Being a wealthy man is not everything, even though money can facilitate me to get anything that I want. But the most important one for me is : in getting through my life, the God always give me happiness and the good health -- then all success that will come to me will be meaningful.
