Well, as much as I like America, it is losing Power. As to being the Great Satan - no comment on that. I'm wondering why you think it could be the Great Satan.

America started as a great nation build on Christian morals even though everyone who signed the Constitution were not Christian, but we have turned our back on God, and were paying for just read the book of Isaiah, the similarities are eerie.

Dear lady,I didn`t wish to imply that at all. This is my country and I`m proud of it.Served 4 years in the U.S.A.F..You mis-understood,My fault. I read that a lot of the world viewed us in that manner. That term was given us by the Muslim world. My apology.

Not at all. That's ok. I didn't know the Muslims gave you (US) that name. I checked your profile and wondered if you were thinking in Biblical terms. Thanks for clarifying. smile

I don't think we were ever really viewed by the world as "the great Satan" because we've always been a Christian-based nation.

Currently,  I believe we're viewed by the rest of the world as a "fallen nation" or at least a "falling" nation.   Several famous foreign views of that type have been expressed,  as even a warning to us that we're going down the wrong path,  saying that a nation whose moral values go downhill will also fall in other ways.
And I totally agree with that.
Those of us who are willing to stand firm on moral ground,  no matter what the financial cost or otherwise, had better stay the course, because our current government doesn't give one whit about moral values.

"The world" is made up on individuals; and there's no doubt a lot of people don't have a very good view of the US.  Some have a very favorable view of it.  How anyone views us, as a nation, and what we really are aren't always the same thing.  I happen to think a lot of people have a really twisted view of the US and could stand a little enlightenment.  Even so, there's also people who have legitimate gripes against the US; but since their interests and ours are different, they're never going to like the US.

In terms of "great satans", I can think of a whole lot of other countries that look a lot more like "satan" to me than the US.

There is no great satan. People have different views of America's policies and how they affect each country. Some are valid gripes, many are not.
To call a country a great satan is crazy talk. America like everywhere else has it's faults, but it is not responsible for all the worlds ills. smile

Well with the US being the major factor in allowing this issue to get so far out of hand it would be nice to finally see the change that Obama promised.

Hey, if anyone is interested, I wrote about Life in America.

See if you agree or disagree. I always welcome a commentary.

But, America needs to start paying attention closer to home.

Who says America has to police the World?

Why, because America is considered a Global Super Power, because it nuclear power.

That's an illusion sold to the American public to pull financial support and nothing more.

The United Nations, as a community, is joke, because it doesn't actually Unite Nations.
