Would you have had children if you knew that the world was really going to end in 2012?

What other life decisions would you have changed?

The earth/world is not designed to 'end' so immediately...it is going to take millions and zillions of years to slowly deteriorate (and repair)...unless there's some kind of alien invasion or angry sun particles flying through the atmosphere from outer space...even a massive volcano can only wipe out one city, but not the entire world!
I wouldn't worry too much about tomorrow as there is always hope...how do we know if we are going to last till the end of this year for that matter? There have been many predictions from famous people from the yesteryears, some have come true and some have not...the reason the world we lve in is not alarmed to that extend, is because we constantly go through all types of challenges put upon mankind by nature and otherwise...we still survive...

To answer your question, I have seen mothers/families believing in the 'end of the world' so much that they have committed suicide in the fear of losing everything when the world ends...thats cowardice! So no, I wouldn't believe a 'prediction' and stop living unless there is a worldwide accepted 'proof' that the world is really and truly going to end!

Great question - I have thought of asking this myself smile

LOL... Being Christian, I believe in the biblical account of the world's end.  I was just curious as to if people would change anything if they knew for a fact that the end was near.  I love your optimism CloudyCool and thank you for your input.  :-)

Has anyone stopped eating, drinking, enjoying TV/ movies, earning money etc. expecting the end of life? One does not stop living. Contrarily, people are in hurry to enjoy life, as if it is going to end tomorrow.

I hadn't thought of it that way but that makes a lot of sense.  Thanks for your input.

Perhaps if I had known for sure that this was going to happen , I may have considered this, yet, to give life, no matter how short is an act beyond all value and one in which the human spirit must do. Precious breath of life to be denied for any length of time is beyond comprehension.

If I knew the world was really giong to end and that was a fact accepted by all, I would not have children.  I would focus on helping others develop spiritually. I would make sure that all my present relationships are friendly and peaceful.  I would spend a lot more time in prayer than I am spending now. I would write more poetry so I could possibly help others find peace with the fact that the world was ending because I know many people would be in constant anxiety.
If I were to have a child knowing the world was ending so soon my mind would be disturbed too much.  Thinking that I would not have any significant time to spend with the little one would sadden me greatly.  Maybe I am not as strong as some.  Anyway, I would definitely focus more on making sure that I am in the best place mentally and spiritually before the world ends.
    Best wishes.

Darrell Roberts, Well... though the world may not be coming to an end we do not know when our lives will come to an end.  I say do it all from helping others to develop spiritually to spending more time and prayer.  This will serve you well.  :-)

If i knew that the world was truly going to end i don't think my focus would be on bringing another life onto it. I think i would be focused on enjoying the rest of the time available, spending it with people of importance in my life. I think if the world was going to end i would be doing a great deal of travel, to see the world before its gone. I don't think it would be fair to start a human life knowing that they would die right after being born.

Good point... I could see people rushing to have children but I wonder if others would see them as being selfish.  Hummmm... Thanks for the input.
