Is there any reason for not believing in Jesus Christ, the Son of God?
You want to go against the mold and feel that by denying something obvious and arguing your point, no matter what, you are accomplishing something.
Everyone is entitled to their own way of worship, even to not worship at all. I have just noticed as a general trend people who don't believe tend to fall into that category.
Do you mean:
a) Is there any reason for not believing that Jesus Christ was the son of God? Or
b) Is there any reason for not believing that someone called Jesus actually existed all those years ago?
Scholors and historians, I understand, are united in their affirmation that somebody, some human, named Jesus did walk the earth and did exist.
Human beings though, are divided on whether such a man was the living and breathing mesiah and son of God. Some are unconvinced that he was the son of God, because they believe such thought is dellusionary, make-believe, bizarre, chinese whispers etc.
That opinion is valid. Afterall, there are all sorts of bigoted, angry, unloving, infeasable stories in the Bible.
Others, think that Jesus may have been only human, but that HIS MESSAGE was holy, loving and offered salvation for mankind.
Truly this subject is a bit of a minefield.
since god is a creation of the human mind, believing in the myth of jesus makes no sense.
Only ones who have never known Him or felt His love would be negative or unbelieving and God does give everyone that right, That is the thing about the true God, we have choice. Even ones at the end when satan is bound for the 1000 years will have to be tempted before all is done, so all men will be tested and make their choice between good and evil. No man will be in hell that didn't chose it.
For the same reasons that some people do not believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster for starters. Also the main reason is that there is no evidence at all to actually believe in such childish nonsense.
No one can deny the existence of Jesus, He is a historic figure who has been documented as living in many Biblical and non Biblical texts. The only matter which can be disputed is His deity as the Son of God. If you look at the evidence surrounding Jesus' death you will see He did die on the cross, He was buried. Now did He rise on the third day? The only thing you can do is look at the evidence because as the CSI always says the evidence is where the truth lies. When you examine the evidence as I did you will come to your own conclusion.
I used to believe in science. I used to believe the alien theories. Then one day someone told me about Jesus. I laughed and I mocked as some people here have done. Then, being a scientific guy I started to look at Roman crucifixion. I found in order for Jesus to be taken down He had to be dead. I then looked into the burial and resurrection. Jesus had guards on His because people feared someone would steal his body and make him into a martyr.
So no one could have stolen the body. Next the guards were there and if they did anything wrong or would have lost the body they themselves would have been killed, maybe by crucifixion. I could go on but you will only believe if you do your own homework. Someone once said Jesus was either a lunatic, a liar or Lord. After all my skepticism and research in the beginning of my faith I go with Lord.
The scientific method vs "I read it out of a novel called The Bible. It's true because I feel it to be true. It's about what you feel and what others tell me to be true. Quantifiable empirical data is a bunch of hoopla."
The only reason is ego.
Every reason anyone could come up with always comes back to ego -- the source of all evil.
Ego is vulnerable. It is a created (false) self and as a created object is subject to the laws of physical (action-reaction) reality. Karma comes from ego. Our blindness and reliance on physical instrumentalities (eyes) in order to see comes from ego.
Ego is the trickster. It makes us think we are it. So, killing ego seems equivalent to killing ourselves. In fact, Christ said that those who try to save their lives will surely lose them, because those who live by the master of this world -- ego -- are destined to lose their consciousness with bodily death. But those who live by the master of that other world (God in Heaven) will see through spiritual eyes, and continuity of consciousness is maintained beyond bodily death. This is the everlasting life of which Jesus spoke.
People are too attached to the things of this world -- the pleasures, the identities and the associations. That's why Jesus said that the Pharisees who followed the letter of the law would get their earthly reward -- admiration of their peers -- but would not realize the spiritual reward in Heaven. That is why a rich man would find it nearly impossible to enter the gates of Heaven.
When the coming storm arrives, people will be tested. Fear will drive many of them toward answers based in physical continuity -- survival and ego. They will lose.
Only those who chose to let go of the things of this world will find the everlasting happiness of their spiritual reward in Heaven.
The time has come to wake up. We were created in His image, and God is not Homo sapiens.
Many reasons, I believe...long term massive destruction of spiritual wisdom that started eons before Jesus and continues today..... inhumane destruction of the
followers, families and bloodlines of Jesus and great spiritual leaders like Jesus.
...all resulting in the mass spiritual confusion, segregation and tragedies that
result from this tragic loss of knowledge that surround us today (2000 separate registered BRANCHES of "Christianity"
But I know when the time is right the true Jesus and His true teachings ("not in parables" this time, just as stated in the Bible) and true followers WILL PREVAIL....thetruejesus.org

...when Jesus clearly said 'My Father is Greater than I' in John 14:28?Nothing can be greater than God, so by Jesus' own words, we can deduce that Jesus did not profess to be God, because he professes that there is a power Greater than him (Jesus). Why then do many Christians firmly believe that...

Do you believe in the Trinity and why? What many people do not realize is that the Trinity is dogma from those not empowered by the same spirit as those that wrote the Bible. It is not sacrosanct. I happen to believe that Jesus is the Son of God and one in the same as God and that it is a Holy...

If Jesus Christ is God in the flesh, is He then one being in heaven?I always thought Jesus was the son of God, in all actuallty. I never knew the meaning of "the son of God" until just now. So now I realize that God came in human form and was called Jesus, Jesus and God are the same. So...

Has these titles, which are often used to describe Christ's relationship with God, been taken out of context? Or do you honestly believe that Jesus Christ is God's son? I wonder, can a person still be a Christian, and yet believe that Christ is not the son of God? What are your...

Is there a difference between true faith and blind faith?I think true faith comes from prayer and reflection and meditation, while blind faith is believing in an individual rather than in the Word...eg: The May 21, end of the world forecast.
